Any consensus on what to paint/coat with?

I imagine it flexes (I’m in FB 8). So would powdercoat crack? Is something like line x going to be more durable? Or just rattle can for easy repair?

It doesn’t flex near as much as you might think. I haven’t had any customers that had there’s powder coated ever say anything about cracking or chipping. With that said I’ve heard of people wanting to use Linux or something similar, but I have yet to actually see one done that way. I’m sure there are pros and cons to all of the options I would imagine something like a Linux might be rough on whatever MOLLE pouches your mounting. A rattle can paint job is it a horrible idea. It’s quick and it’s cheap. It basically boils down to preference.

Thanks for the response. A lot of my MOLLE has metal clips, not fabric with buttons.

Would powdercoating chip from metal contact? Concrete powdercoating would look pretty clean tho.......

For the purposes of behind the seat storage, I don’t think metal contact would beat up too badly, but my panel is bare aluminum. How about we have some of the guys and gals that ordered powder coat chime in?

I hate to ask this again, but when is GB#8 going to ship? Tomorrow will be 6 weeks from GB#8 closing.

I interpreted the 3-6 weeks starting near the time when the GB closes. I didn't realize there could be a 3 week gap between the GB closing and getting production started.

I was planning a refit next weekend. As I had scheduled the refit > 6 weeks from the GB closing. I will push back my refit at least 3 weeks to accommodate the production schedule.

Thank you for the quick reply and update.

I have to apologize for the delay, however that’s out of my hands. The correct interpretation is 3-6 weeks from the closing date. I will edit the OP to clarify that. To explain it a little bit, the shop I use also does other projects. The 3-6 weeks is an estimate of when my order gets processed. They in turn ship them to you. While the shop does great work, they don’t always communicate the way I’d like to. This is why I generally don’t like giving an ETA. It’s not because I’m not being responsive. With that said, I’m still waiting to hear from them on shipping. As soon as I know, you’ll know. That much I can guarantee.
