Thanks. I’m liking the thought of kayaks on top and gear stored under a cover!

Looks great! Can you fabricate clips for the back flip rail system?

    I don't think it will.....

Do you have a Baklip? If so, what do you think?

I have the Bakflip Revolver X2. I been looking at your original brackets and was trying to find a way to modify it or add another bracket of some sort to it to make it work. It looks like this may work but I'm pretty sure it will raise the Bakflip type covers and leave a gap between the side rails and the cover track. Weather stripping should remedy the gap. I've put similar sized pieces of angled aluminum and the gap is there. You would probably have a small market with these but anyone with a Bakflip that wants a rack to work with their cover would be happy to purchase these, I for one am one of them. I wouldn't mind purchasing these brackets just to see if they work.

    This is super -

Would you consider selling the brackets as a kit separate of the 80/20 to reduce shipping for those who can source the extrusion locally?

Even the set of the 4 bed brackets would be sweet, then someone could choose their own adventure on the uprights and bar.

Any chance of putting a 10 degree or so inward angle on the brackets, my opinion (which is not really important) is that it looks better even if the square is strong enough. I understand it is a game of not interfering with the tonneau cover at that point.

Excited to see this rack available!

It would be more cost effective for you to buy the rack as a complete unit.

The whole point of this rack is to be able to use and fully open a tonneau cover.

We already have two racks that angle in, and they both work with tonneau covers.

Only thing I see is the extra material at the top of the up rights may affect the opening of a RTT. Other than that this is super innovative and solid!

We will have a field on our website for specifying the maximum height of the rack when ordering.

If anyone plans to put an RTT on it, they would specify that height, and push the crossbars all the way to the top for tent usage.

That's good to know. Primary purpose for me is carrying my canoes. Since canoes are generally carried upside down, you have to make sure the stems don't hit the cab roof.

    Exactly!!

Also, a good trick would be to put the rear crossbar a little lower to point the front of the canoe up.

Suposed we get the height wrong, how easy is this material to cut/modify ourselves?

Aluminum is pretty easy to work with.....but we would suggest measuring a few times to make sure it's right.

And remember, you can make it shorter, but you can't make it longer.

Also, how feasible is it to drop it down low with a RTT for less wind resistance, then raise up higher when parked and ready to camp?

It would be a bit of a process to do that. Most people will pick a height and keep it there.
