    Depending on how many points in octane it went up, you basically went from 87 to 91 octane and felt a difference? Ok!

    Were you getting knock or something?

    Then why did you need it?

    I consistently have knocking when running 87 octane fuel, especially when the engine comes out of the Atkinson cycle… every single time. My truck runs best on non-ethanol, 90 octane fuel, but it’s way too expensive where I’m at. I tried octane booster with 87 as an experiment, and while I noticed a difference, it felt like my truck was running on Monster energy drinks mixed with 5-hour energy shots. Never again.

    That's a bit of a reach to claim that. The truck is sold outside of North America with a specific CA compliant version mentioned because it is different.
