My front driver side ball joints are shot. This truck is in the woods a lot so I am not too surprised at 93K.

I was just quoted $1504.56. This seems really high to me. Is this a reasonable estimate?

    Thank you all!

Prices look pretty standard for oem stuff.

Toyota doesn't sell the ball joints separate from the control arms so you're stuck buying the entire arms.

oem alignment bolts/hardware are super expensive everywhere you look. Gotta pay to play.

I just got similar work done with all oem stuff and the prices were close to what is posted here

Sure you can find a set of gently used control arms for a fraction of the quoted price.

Why cheap out or gamble with used stuff.

Do it once, do it right.

Somebody here in the buy sell trade section is selling lower arms and uppers, so if you are feeling ambitious you can do this job yourself in a day and save a lot of money. Watch some youtube videos and decide if you are up to it. Its a pretty straight forward job, just take photos of alignment bolts so you can put them back where they were and then drive to your favorite alignment shop for a proper dial in.

I agree, except there is a guy right now who has a set with 300 miles on them. Its a pretty small gamble..

My bet based purely on past experiences is the current LCA will need to be chopped off due to seized cam alignment bolts. Be prepared to go thru a couple sawzall blades

Just giving the OP another avenue if he's up for replacing them himself. MUCH cheaper and nothing wrong with aftermarket ball joints (will probably be grease-able also). Very good chance he could forego the alignment also.

Moog or Dorman ball joints can be had for under $20 a piece. There is no way I would waste all the money on OEM.

I never understood the folks who buy a Toyota then replace worn out parts with jobbers...in the end ur just murdering your resale value and lining urself up to redo jobs closer on down the road

My grandmother used to always say she was too poor to buy cheap stuff

They're not cheap -- they're expensive for what they are. The fact that Toyota's joints aren't replaceable is just poor design.

Moog problem solver ball joints are top notch . Make sure they are the problem solver model . Just as good and probably better than factory

You fall right into the trap that Toyota wants you to. Do you really think that Toyota makes their parts? They buy them from suppliers that also make replacement parts.
