I just picked up a 2008 Tacoma with a Fabtech 6" lift. I'm going to rebuild the shocks (dirt logic) and figured while I'm in there I should do the balljoints and bushings. It's not rusty so I can probably press out the bushings and balljoints on the lowers, but I'm wondering if it's worth it to replace the bushings and balljoints on the uppers or if I should just buy some new ones. Is there any advantage to longer upper control arms with a 6" diff drop lift like the Fabtech or does the drop correct the geometry enough to not need different control arms? Amazon is full of knockoffs for lifted Tacomas that look decent for ~$160. I don't want uniballs, this truck will see salt 6 months out of the year.

Standard arms for 6" lifts due to the custom spindles. No need to buy anything but standard fit.

If you do go aftermarket, get sealed, not greaseable, this will protect the joint better from the elements.

Would control arms for lifted applications cause any issues? It’s $140 for parts just to rebuild each oem control arm.

Kind of, unless you're having problems with caster or alignment there's no reason. Aftermarket arms cost way more than 140$ usually.

Each bushing (mevotech, so not oem) is $25 and each ball joint (also mevotech) is $40, so $180 total to rebuild the oem control arms with subpar quality (My math was wrong). I’m seeing Chinese knockoffs for $160/pair that actually look decent and rough country is what, $300? I suspect pressing out the oem bushings might bend the factory arms pretty bad. They look really weak tbh.
