I am trying to use the online Toyota parts search. A lot of times a search yields multiple part numbers and selecting the correct part number depends on knowing the vehicle's associated production number (for lack of better term), which is probably related to when the vehicle was built, as Toyota made many minor changes during the production run. How do I take my VIN and determine what its production number is? Here is an example of the codes that are shown next to a part number: "00000O 0; RZN161,171,VZN170"

Wow, that was fast. So, it turns out that what I was looking for is called the 'frame code.' Thanks

Hmm. I've never heard of a frame code. You didn't find it on Toyodiy?

Some online Dealer stores will refund you on a part if you input your VIN and it doesn't work for your model...

Some info could be propriety system info, and impossible for the general public to get a hold of. :notsure:

What parts are you trying to get a hold of?

Toyodiy worked great. Thanks again for sharing that. It was on Toyodiy that I learned that those are called frame codes. Toyodiy also calls them model codes.

Ah. Sweet man, Toyodiy.com is really useful. Good luck getting your truck dialed in.
