No, it'll be fine "after" you turn the headlights ON.

Ok now I see it. I'm kinda slow as you have noticed.

The issue remains due to the dual purpose cable that runs in the SR/SR5 Tacoma's, there's got to be a way of isolating both power sources to run the wires separately.

The issues is your SR/SR5, which has the turn & drl on one wire.

Check this out, this is the diagram use by TRS for the Tundra, if you notice on the non-DRL version the you have to swap the connections. I wonder why nobody has come up with something of the sort for the SR/SR5

I'm trying to find the logic in the halogen DRL where the connection is factory +/-/+ and the required for their harness to work is -/+/+ and this last version resembles the connection I have in my Tacoma.

It must be their headlamp...not the OEM one...

As a new owner of a 2020 SR5 I’m also hating the stock halogen headlights. I’m curious why you went with stock Toyota led headlights instead of getting the Alpha Rex or Morimoto XB’s. The Alpha Rex and Morimoto’s are plug & play, even with the SR5s and would be cheaper than Toyota OEM led headlights.

Hi, the reason is simple I usually try to mod my Toyota's with genuine toyota parts, with that being said buying the stock 2020 led headlights was a no brainer for me. The problem is that I did not do my research and did not know that these were not P&P and to me these look way better than the Alpharex and the Morimoto's. Plus my 2020 Tacoma deserved proper 2020 LED headlights.

Alpharex I didn't like simply because it has the lettering on the housing which looks cheesy and the Morimoto XB's had one issue for me and it is the angel eye on the four bulbs, I've had these type of aftermarket headlights and the light output and pattern is not the best, no experience with Morimoto so owners might prove me wrong.

If you hang in there I'm trying to find a solution to this and once I get it whether its doing it myself or with someone's help we'll try to come up with a solution because it can't be impossible.

Gotta love the look, I also installed the TRD PRO grille.

    Treasure Coast Toyota in FL.

They sell them on Ebay, I paid like $1,556 + tax + shipping.

I understand your reasoning, I guess if you’ve got the money, then go for it. $1500 on stock headlights just seems like a lot. I believe the Alpha Rex and Morimoto’s have the stock leds beat on output though.
I agree, the Alpha Rex logo ruins a potentially good headlight. I don’t think the Morimoto’s have angel eyes, I could be mistaken.
You could do a retro, it would have been easier, cheaper and quicker to have done a HID retro with RX350 or Morimoto projectors. The light output would be better too than led.
Good luck to you in this, I’m curious how this turns out.

You're right, I guess just fixated on getting those LED headlights.

I don't like HID retrofits, I would've gone with LED bulbs maybe.

Well hopefully I'll find a solutions, if not I'll just sell the LED headlights and keep my factory headlights.

Thanks, once I get it done I'll post the results in here.

The Alpha Rex design is removing their logo from the headlight assembly in their next batch. I saw it in a thread somewhere from somebody that contacted them about it; it’s a common request so it’s happening. Don’t remember where I saw it though.

I told the guys at TC Toyota to stop saying these lights are plug and play in all 2020 Tacomas - they are not for the SR/SR5
and I told them why, too bad they are misleading buyers - thats a bunch of $$$ to spend thinking they are plug and play in an SR/SR5

I did the exact same thing, they should put that on the description of the item. They sent me Mike's e-mail but I told them that he's not making them yet. And also for TRD owners they should mention that they need to buy a harness for these headlights to work.

They got me, but I'll come up with something.

If they do, I'll sell these and get the alpha rex.

OP, there is a solution. Instead of using the front turn/drl signal wire for the LED headlamps, tap the rear turn signals. You will still need the MESO's solution for the DRL.

Interesting, so I would actually just use the ground wire from the factory connector, tap into the rear signals (left with left and right with right) and then run a single tap from the ignition fuse that would then convert into two cables one for each side directly into the harness that plugs into the new headlights.

Seems pretty straight forward. I'll try this once I receive my harness
