Our friend got 30 days for a “political” meme about Epstein. I’ve gotten way less for worse things so I guess it all comes down to your popularity with the mods

Now, if they offered it with a Hemi or a Cummins, that would be a different story!

It’s still a Chrysler with the above motors in it. That doesn’t change it.

    Buy what ya want.

If I had unlimited funds, I’d put a Cummins in an old GM square body!

There’s this guy who comes to the Carlisle Truck Nationals every year; He has a 1993 Chevy Suburban C2500 (2WD); He replaced the 454 and automatic tranny with a Cummins 12V and 5-speed NV4500!

    Nice.

Over the last few years, I’ve been seeing builds where people have wedged in a 4bt in different vehicles. Yeah it’s the smaller diesel, but they were great builds.

If I had the money I’d have an old Ford, 12v 5.9 Cummins with an Allison trans. The best of the big 3.

How hard would it be to adapt an Allison to a Cummins though?

Not sure but I remember seeing an RV (can’t remember the coach builder) that was a front engine 5.924v Cummins with an Allison. This was roughly 2005 era. I’m sure there’s a lot to it but if I had the budget I’d find a way or hire someone to get it done. For now I’ll be perfectly content having my 2nd gen 2500. Just wish I had 1 or 2 more gears in the auto trans or maybe even a 6 speed manual. Not meaning to thread jack- sorry!

There are a couple companies that have been doing it for awhile now (pricey though). I'll link 'em. might in trouble, might not.

    https://www.crossmembers.com/cummins-allison-a-popular-conversion/
    https://www.atsdiesel.com/allison_conversion/
    https://www.xtremediesel.com/xdp-manufacturers/ca-conversions#/showFilters

Hell, Over the road tractor trailers have been doing it for years now. Can even spec. it on a new build order.

Thanks for linking that. It’ll be interesting reading but now that I’m retired it won’t be in the budget anytime soon. However I ate a fortune cookie the other day and it said fortune was coming my way. When it happens I’ll get going on it.

Yeah I’m just thinking that anything is better than 3spd w/ OD.
