One of the longest "Friday threads" in TW history. First we are supposed to be the parents, but we are interfering so the OP says. Then the OP is banned. Then the OP comes back and is moving from Hawaii to Vegas, letting son lose all earthly possessions and be homeless, and abandoning daughter.

"As sands through the hourglass, so go the Days Of Our Lives".

I'm a jacked up pickemup 35s on 12 wides guy so I can relate to Junior but...that's also why I got a 2WD. Aint no way in tarnation I'd deal with 6" lift 4x4 headaches on a brand new truck with a 10 year warranty unless I was in a way higher tax bracket.

At that point I'd have to believe most of your warranty money will just be a donation to the dealership. Long-term warranties are kinda like being on probation - they don't let you party too hard.

Well, after I got banned, I started looking at different lifts and looked to me the OME 2 inch lift would be the best. Not a major lift and all the peeps that had done it said the ride and control was much better than OEM. The peeps also said they had put 100k miles on the OME suspension with no issues. If need be, my son and I could return the truck to stock. Once I mentioned to son all of this, he kind of lost interest in the lift. Son is interested in buying old F250 diesel and lifting and making it a "Coal Roller". I guess I need to go to a Ford forum and start a Friday thread for that one... Any hows, I keep telling son, look, you need a reliable transport to get to work and not worry about break downs and also not worry about repairs. Just leave the truck as is. I think he is on board now. I did tell him he can have my 91 Landcruiser FJ80 and do a OME lift along with tunes if he wants to go that route.

Not sure if you have been to Hawaii, but half the vehicles here on the road are Tacomas, and most have some lift. So I told my son, it actually is starting to be cool to not lift your truck and start a new trend. People actually look at your truck and say, eh look, no lif, nice bra......and most giv a shaka....

What are you talking about? Violent crime has been declining year over year since it peaked in the 90s. Violent crime is its lowest since the 60s when we had half the population. In other words crimes per capita is at one of the lowest in the past 60 years…..Several research firms concluded during this same time that gun crime also fell by 49%

It only appears like more because how information is shared and distributed, and netflix putting out a docu-series every week about some serial killer, scaring every mom under the sun.

I have lived in the areas of New Orleans, Baltimore, New York City and now Honolulu since the early 1960' and beg to differ. Today in these areas senior citizens regularly get beaten for no reason. I have relatives in New York City that do not go out at night for fear of violence. They used to enjoy taking evening strolls in lower Manhatten, no more...

You have only one data point, not the series of data. @JoeCOVA is correct. Don't be blinded of the forest by one tree.

I looked at violent crime data for all places I have lived over the years and all have shown a steady increase in violent and non-violent crimes. BTW this is not a political statement, it is fact.
    Nuf said on the subject.....

That's complete bullshit. Just because you say it's a fact doesn't mean that it is. Literally every single data source to include independent research firms complete CONTRADICT your statement.

You mentioned NYC so here's a tidbut directly from the source, sadly only going back to 2000 when crime was already declining.

    https://www.nyc.gov/assets/nypd/dow...ata/seven-major-felony-offenses-2000-2021.pdf

Look at the number in 2000 and the number in 2021. Which one is greater? in that 20 years, NYC grew 500k in population while crime dropped.

You mentioned Baltimore, below is a compilation of the Uniformed Crime Reports issued by the FBI, again MD hasnt seen this low of crime sine the 1960s and 1970s.

    https://www.disastercenter.com/crime/mdcrime.htm

I can go on and on and on and on.

In most cases, ignorance is bliss and mass communication has removed a lot of that ignorance but in doing so left people extremely misinformed. You have all the information you need to understand the world you live in but choose to live in fear under a rock..sad.
