Went up to @Burnett 's place to install my Prinsu Roof Rack. And damn he's got a sick set up. Super jealous of it, hope to start doing more truck stuff with him! Anyways on to the install. With the first gens you have to drill 10 holes into the roof. Scary I know, a little nerve wracking but once you get moving you kinda forget that and get through it. After the holes were drilled we installed rivnut and plus nuts. We used a lot of silicon so hopefully when it rains it all holds up. I just need to get it powder coated. With it being Aluminum I figured it wouldn't rust in the elements but I still plan on getting it PC'd soon! Now onto the pics

Just measuring it out so we don't have to drill more holes than we actually need.

Didn't get any pics of drilling but I got a few of the rivets

Trying to get the first one in so we know how to do it and don't have 10 holes in the cab and get stuck.

Got one done so then we blew through drilling the rest of the holes

The started with the rivnuts. Also it was easier to use a smaller socket and pliers so it gets a nice backing on the sheet metal. Once we figured that out everything went a lot quicker. Of course I dropped everything about 10 damn times, guess I was still a little nervous haha:spy:

(you can barely see the 5 holes on that side but they are there)

After 4 hours and one broken drill bit the finished product!

Front view with halos on! (yes I now my side marker is out, found that out last night). Usually when I do stuff to my truck something goes wrong, so as of right now a broken drill bit is all that went wrong :fingerscrossed: so I'll take that as a win!

If you guys have any questions feel free to ask! Wanted to thank @Burnett again for the Zaxby's and shop!

@zscott if you wanna use any of my pics just let me know! I don't have a problem with it. And thanks for you're help through all my stupid questions! If any other first gen needs help send them my way!

Yeah, if it doesn't work we get our money back. But it seems like it'll work. And for like 50% off maxtrax I was in. Plus I got a mounting bracket to come with it

Looks good. I've been looking at these. They just don't have one for a 1st gen DC. Do you have any pics of how these mount for the 1st gens? They don't have any online.

Thanks! No he doesn't make them for DC something about it not having enough strength in the middle of the cab. But in the pics above there are bronze rivnuts that you use to mount it. If you go under installation on his site and click the rivnuts one that's it
