Was watching this video when dude mentioned the truck has a coolant filter
    What the hell?
Never even knew such a thing existed. Then I google it
apparently it's common enough to come standard on certain diesel vehicles...
claiming that it increases coolant service life, reduces particles to extend water pump life, etc.

Is it worth adding to gas engines (such as the Tacoma)?

I have seen sediment built up inside of cooling systems before,
and it never looks good to have all that crap floating around inside and through the engine, deposits settling around, etc.
But it seems to happen only more on vehicles where the owner neglected to replace their coolant often enough

last time I ever added an extra filter on a car was Magnefine for power steering

Probably not going to make much difference in a gas application if your servicing your coolant at reccomended intervals. Diesels by nature are much harder on coolant and tend to have much more complex cooling systems due to emissions requirements and the amount of heat generated.

That would be a complete waste of money on these trucks.
