Coolant leak assistance

I have a 14 sport and notice my coolant may be low a few weeks ago but waged to watch it. This morning, with the motor cold it is at the low level. With that being said and it a Sunday what coolant should I put in? It has the pink stuff and all I used to run in my subaru was high performance. So new to this.

I need to get under the truck as I have not seen any drop so I may be from a hose or maybe the radiator. Are there any hoses that rend to loosen up or any particular location the radiators fail?

What's the level when the engine is at operating temp?

There are a lot of possibilities for the cause. You may have boiled water out if the overflow reservoir due to blocked radiator fins if you wheel or live in a dusty/ muddy area.

Since the fluid level is at the low mark when it's cold, you're safe to wait and run to Toyota to pick up some coolant.

 

I will have to go ru it and find out. I will see I there is mud in the radiator. I did get a little dirty the other week. I will run it and let you know. Thanks

 

I just checked- it is at low when cold and when at normal temp it is 1 inch below the max line. The coolant is clean with no visible leaks.

 

Sounds like it's right where you want it to be. No problems. No leaks. Proper coolant level. Always check coolant level when warm.

 

Thank you- I normally do check when warm but was washing the truck and had never seen it that low before.
