Coolant has been leaking down from two 1" diameter hoses that go through the firewall into the cab. Do I need to replace the rubber grommet piece holding the two hoses?

thats for the heater core. The rubber grommet is just a grommet. You need to inspect the heater core inlet/outlet pipes and hoses. It looks like the one leaking has a non-factory screw-type hose clamp. I'd start by looking there.

I'd start with cutting off the hose w/ the non-factory clamp and inspecting the heater core pipe. Cut the hose off carefully with a razor blade and don't try to break it loose. The pipes coming out of the heater core are brittle and can be squashed with very little force - ask me how I know :)

I'd just buy a new factory hose and unless you're unlucky, that's all you'll probably have to replace.

Thanks, I'm hoping there is no issue with the inlet/outlet pipes. Fingers crossed it is just the wrong size hose for the heater core pipe or something. I will get to it this coming weekend.

Thanks for the advice. I would go with a factory hose in a heartbeat but the leaking hose is plumbed into a heat exchanger for a hot water shower system. I will just have to find a hose with a smaller inner diameter hopefully.
