Hi everyone, been having a coolant leak since I got my truck a couple years ago, but now its to the point where its dripping. Been noticing coolant pooling up in the little valley on the drivers side head. Theres usually a decent size pool there but most of it seems to have dripped off. Ive been thinking the housing for the upper radiator hose where it 90’s down, but it doesnt seem like it. If anyone has any ideas they would be appreciated!

Out of those 2 the bypass hose would be the most likely. The truck came with the coolant leak and since then I've replaced both the upper and lower Plenum gaskets.

Interesting, if its not the bypass tube on mine than maybe something got gouged on the lower intake or on the actual engine, because there was coolant in the valley’s when I bought it, and I replaced the gaskets when I did valve covers. Hopefully its just the bypass though.

In case there's confusion, the offending gaskets would be the (2) 17177, which have a few additional passages, at least one of which must be coolant.

    Damn thems deep
At least headers don’t need to come off

make a weekend of it and clean carbon out of TB/intake and plenum while you’re in there

Ok, that makes more sense, i thought you were referring to the upper and lower plenum. Thank you for the clarification on that.

The offending coolant bypass tube is in the same location, under the lower manifold, so you probably want to do both regardless of what you find.
