nice pictures, thanks for the update. So is the final conclusion of the cause due to "just having a Super Charger"?

Exceeding the design perameters of the factory engine= Significantly shortening the lifespan of your equipment. In this case it was the head gasket. In my case, should I get a SC, it will be the head gasket and clutch.

That is ridiculous.. At 50k? I had a TRD supercharger on my first gen till like 140k, and I had no problems... Makes me reconsider supercharging my 2nd gen

I have 75,000 on my blower, just re-lubed the snout and put on a new belt. My wife and I are about 1/2 way through a 4,000 mile trip with our light weight pop up camper on. We drove a long leg from Grand Canyon to San Diego at night keeping the temps to no higher than 85.

When we got to SD, I saw coolant spewed all over the engine bay consistent to what you describe, I too thought head gasket and just about cried. Then I looked at the overflow tank and it had been "Topped Off" by the idiot who did my oil change. So as I had my new bumper installed at Aluminess, I cleaned out the bay, used a turkey baster to remove coolant the next morning.

On a 260 mile drive from San Diego to Lone Pine, it never dipped below 90, got as high as 95 and included the grueling pass on I-15 from Riverside to Victorville. We stopped in Victorville to get gas, I popped the hood with hesitation....no coolant spewed and even though the coolant in the overflow tank was bubbling a bit, it had only rose about 1/2 inch above the full line...

Edit ( Bummer too ) we drove from Mammoth Lakes to South Lake Tahoe today, nice and cool, 60-70 degrees all the way. The day before we did Lone Pine to Mammoth and had one big hill, no overflow. But today, we did three not as big hills and when we got to Tahoe, coolant all over the engine bay again!!!

The motor did not even get hot, but the coolant level is still high after sitting for three hours now. I am dreading this but I am wondering if I have a blown gasket.

How much boost are you running? Stock ecu with the Toyota reflash? Larger injectors and fuel pump?

Could have been due to age, or it could have been due to a lean condition. If you haven't upgraded the stock fuel pump to at least a Walbro 255lph, you are in risk of that again. On stock psi it will be "ok", but raised even to ~8 psi you run the risk of high rpm lean out. Especially due to the fact that the stock fuel filter gets so clogged so quickly.

OEM service interval being 30k and you having been supercharged for 50k, it is easy to see how the potential for this condition can rear its ugly head.

If you haven't yet upgraded the fuel pump, do it. For $150 it is well worth it. Plus the filter moves to inline vs intank. Also cheaper than the OEM pump.

I forgot to ask. Since you upgraded to ARP Head studs, did you also upgrade to a set of Cometic head gaskets?

    Yep, I am faaked...

Hydrocarbon sniffer caught more whiffs of exhaust than a porta-pottie, overflow tank was bubbling like an aquarium. Heads are fine, only teeny warping on the driver side, blown gaskets on #5 & #6, bottom end looks fine. Getting a proper piggyback for my ECU and a bomber tune, this crap is for the birds...

They did not have to pull it, but I asked them to in order to really go over the bottom end close. The ARP head studs came in today, MapECU3 and wiring harness by Friday.

Just an FYI, I am running the TRD blower, URD 2.825 pulley, TRD CAI first Gen, Walbro 255 pump.

definitely not a necessity to pull the motor but if they dont what happens is the front cover of the engine will not be perfectly sealed with the oil pan due to design. i pulled the motor because you end up with a cleaner done repair. trust me its the way to go. good choice

What cylinder was your leak at? What was your reason for not going with Cometic gaskets? I do know the Cometic thickness is ever so slightly more leading to a hair less compression.

My shop foreman called around to find out why mine might have blown and the general word is simply the extra pressure of boost after 70-90k blows the gaskets. So are the ARP studs going to help keep the gaskets in check or just prevent bolt stretching and possible warped heads only.....?

the arp headstuds will help out alot. i used the factory gaskets due to the fact that i feel that they headgaskets blew due to the stretch to yield factory head bolts. the arp are not like this. i actually could not see what cylinders were blown. i did not have any cylinders that had the usual steam clean piston top. when i got the heads checked out there was no warpage and the heads had 0 leakdown...... but the truck is definitly fixed now;)
