I've done the research but am leaning towards more real world experience...the 4s is rated as SL and the XLT and LT are E load. Does the 4S have a better ride? Does SL mean I can load the truck with as much weight as the stock wranglers?

The only way to get size 275/70/70 is in the LT but I really am interested in onroad ride comfort. I can get the 4S in 285 but that leads to a lot more chopping/fitment issues...or at least that's my understanding.

My XLT’s are extremely smooth, I would honestly compare them to my previous Yokohama YK-HTX highway tires. If you get a proper offsetting wheel, you can avoid the cmc with 285’s, but you will need to trim/mold plastics. Off road you may still rub

Thanks! By proper offset do you mean negative or positive offset? I'm looking at TRD Sema (+4) or SCS F5 (-10)

I have a second gen so I’m not too familiar with 3rd gen offsets. I think most guys are running close to 0 but don’t quote me on that.

I completely forgot I'm also running spidertracs 1.25 inch wheel spacers with my stock OR wheels to clear my UCA's on top of my 2 inch lift.

E rated tire high pressure valve stems never had a E rated tire before does the tire shop know to use high pressure valve stems rated to 80 psi or do you need to tell them or bring your own stems

Any decent tire shop will have you covered. If they’re confused about E rated tires go elsewhere.

It is strapped down in the bed as of now. I have a 285/75 spare right now which would not be ideal if I needed to run it with 295/75's, though I figure I could use it to get out of a pinch. I will be buying a matching spare eventually.

Tons of rain in southern California the past few days. Last night when it was safe I tried to break traction where my ko2s would and these absolutely wouldn't let go. I have confidence in these tires now especially since my wife uses the truck daily to shuffle the kids to school and get groceries. Cooper AT3 4S really good in the rain. Was leaning towards going Load C but the shop didn't have them and I don't tow anything. I plan to offroad a bit this year but nothing hardcore

Getting new 285-70/17’s and really wanting a MT mainly for hunting, dirt roads and they look killer. I’m worried about putting an E rated tire. Heavier-mileage loss and power already sucks and tougher ride than the C. I want cooper stt pro but only toyo MT comes in a C and theyre stupid expensive. Let me hear from you guys running 33” muds

They have a 275/70/17 load c if you're willing to compromise. Should be plenty of meat and height

I mounted 265/75 x16 AT3 4S on my off road wheels on my stock suspension 18 sr double cab 4x4 . No rubbing at all after around 100 miles ,and I make full lock turns in forward and reverse on my daily drive . And so far the traction is great and they are quiet . Snow storm on it's way this weekend so I'll see how they really work … 9000 feet in the mountains above Denver :) And on another note , the inch or so over the stock tires diameter , actually made my speedo more accurate by gps and electric signs we have out here ! and they ride great @ 29 psi in all 4 with empty truck ...

The only 275/70/17 load C tire they make is the older AT3 which is now hard to find and has a boring side wall. I don't see any of the new AT3 design or STT in that size/load C.

    Ah you're right. It's a load E.

That being said, the Falken At3w was recently released in 275/70/17 load C. My hope is Cooper follows with the same size/load in the AT3 LT. I'm holding out as long as possible as the Falkens are pretty heavy, and I'd rather go with a US made tire.
