I'm sure you're on it but don't forget to get proper alignments and rotate religiously, it could be the culprit for strange/premature wear and odd noises/vibes developing. That's usually what I think is happening when people say that a usually reliable and highly rated tires start turning to crap around 10k miles.

You're spot on though with the michelins being good in wet slippery conditions.

rotations were done every 5k, and every other rotation a balance was done. Also alignment is spot on verified by big brand and myself.

I was looking @ the new at3s when I scored a set of 265/65/17s OG AT3s when they discontinued them for $480

Filling up and getting to 34/35 PSI.. had them at 30 when I left the shop. Hit the freeway with them and they’re pin drop silent compared to Duratracs at any point in their lifespan. Better mannerisms too.

Also ripped off all the weights required to balance the duratracs.

They rode fine up to 80mph with no oddities. First day tho, so I’m not gonna make any firm opinions yet. I just know they’re quiet, and I’m in love with that.

Edit - Same trip through town I do for class every day and I’m getting about 2mpg better on that trip after two days. Only noise I hear so far is a rock stuck in one of the driver side tires.

Weight for the Duratrac and XLT was the same I thought, and even though the XLT is a hair shorter, it shouldn’t be that drastic of a change that fast. Someone’s posted stats are wrong, and I can’t weigh either of them fairly now.

Got a set of the AT3 4S, really happy with them so far! They look a lot more aggressive in person than in photos.

Great tires mine are holding with 11/32nds in tread after now 15k miles - and they have been there for over 5k so a little initial wear and stabilizing, wearing evenly, and while we’ve had a very mild winter in TN, we’ve gotten record rainfall and no matter my driving style I have NEVER lost traction like I did (easily) on the stock Wranglers.

I do find these perform best around 33-34 cold vs the 30 in the door jamb

While I “may” consider the LTs when I add more weight / suspension next year this is the tire I’m sticking with

Made a round trip from Morgantown to Pittsburgh today.

Dead silent, +3mpg over duratracs in the same size.

What size are those? I am running BFG KO2 235/85/16's and I am thinking I will switch to 265/75/16 Cooper 4S when I need new tires. I am hoping the difference in weight gets me a few MPG's

I’m sure this has been stated, but what is impact in regard to MPG and speedometer reading when going from 265/70/16 to 265/75/16? Thank you.

Load index will have the biggest impact. An E-load tire that size will reduce your MPG's by 2-3 mpg at worst.... a Standard load or P-rated tire... you will see either no change or maybe 0.5mpg

Weight will. Load index correlates to max PSI and load a tire is rated for. Higher load range tires typically weigh more, but it’s not always the case (see NRG C/E). That said, manufacturers list the wrong stats constantly. 285/75/16 XLT and Duratrac supposedly weigh the same, yet I get better fuel economy to the tune of 3mpg so far in the XLT o_O

From 265/70 to 265/75, observed economy change will be minimal at best and the speedometer will be nearly identical. The easiest way to tell is load an app like Waze and have it track your speed via GPS while you use the digital readout on your dash.

Weight and tire diameter will affect city stop and go more than it will hwy mileage. Tread design and tire width will decrease hwy mileage.
