I didn't notice any significant MPG changes (I'll admit I don't really ever keep track of that). And it actually corrects the speedometer. I verified using my GPS.

TRD Baja Kit with JBA UCA's 1/2 inch spacer on top, Medium Dakars with BAMF hangars and super bumps all around. 285/75/16 Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT's on graphite TRD faux beadlock wheels. Pro skid powder coated black with Pelfreybilt aluminum mid skid and aluminum gas tank skid.
This is true to an extent. Tread design also plays a part in this as well. I've ran duratracs in the past and love them but to me the XLT's are better for everyday highway driving. I have 285/75/16's and am using a free used duratrac from a friend for a spare. I had a pic some where of them side by side but can't find it. The worn duratrac was larger than the brand new XLT. So far no complaints with these and they are very quiet for what they are. Going snow wheeling tomorrow for the first time with them and I'm excited.

Duratracs are around .6” taller I believe. I didn’t weigh the XLTs or Duratracs before install, but I’m doubting .3” of radial velocity is playing as large of a role as mislabeled weight. I’d have to look into tread pattern, but the kinetic friction for moving at highway speed (not city with stop and go) should be VERY close and also not play a large role.

It snowed about 4” here last night.. then warmed up just enough to clear the roads without the city laying salt. I was bummed this morning because it would have been my first chance to see how well these did in the snow versus other tires I’ve used.

    Too few to list.
I think the biggest impact on MPG is stop and go traffic. 285/75R16 Duratracs Load E was getting me at most 19-20mpg on the highway driving lightly and averaging between 13-15 MPG on Ultragauge. 265/75R16 Duratracs Load C was seeing up to 23 highway and now average about 18 mixed. This is on the 4.0L

Size alone is a big factor. On the 2.7L going from the stock 245/75R16 (62 lbs) to 265/75R16 (60lbs), my MPG went from 24 hwy to 20 with average of 18-19 mix when before was getting 21 mix.

As I've got about 2000 miles on my 265/75r 16 AT3 4S's now , I can still say best bang for the buck tire I've bought in years . actual minor improvement in mpg , speedo is dead on now and the driving conditions here since I've had them on has been bad at best … I'm at 9k feet in the mountains above Denver and we've had some fine weather lately ! These tires have saved me more than once avoiding folks that should not drive in snow and ice !

Those are the two I'm comparing...

I'm rolling 16" Platinum Apex wheels wrapped in Michelin rubber right now. This wheel/tire combination is causing my tires to wear out prematurely, so I am going back to stock 15" wheels after more than six years...

Your wheel and tire combo is causing your tires to wear out??

    How so?

Tires are a wear item, your driving characteristics, suspension etc would affect the wear... but tires don’t cause tire wear

I have no idea, but it's confounding me. Had 235/60R16 Michelins installed in October 2017 at like 78K miles. Now it's April 2019 and I've got a little over 94K on the clock. The rear tires were wearing out so I had them rotated to the front. Now the front (Formerly rear) tires have maybe 5K left in them at most. This is a set of tires that is rated to go 50K-65K under normal conditions. The tires are wearing out a lot in the center. I've had three different independent mechanics look at the truck, and the guy at the Goodyear place (I know what you're gonna say) said that the combination of having a light truck with those size tires is causing them to wear quicker.

Sounds unusual. Center tread wear is usually over inflation.

Back to your original question I’d say go with the coopers over the SR-A’s any day

Inflation is normal, but I'm also going back to stock wheels because the aftermarket ones are starting to get weatherbeaten, and they're a bitch to keep clean...

How many miles can I expect out of the Coopers?

What's the main difference between the 4S and the LT? Just sidewall thickness? Suggestions for someone like me who does mostly freeway driving but sometimes I need traction in flooded fields.

Get 4S , and run them at about 29 psi all 4 , unless your carrying a load , and rotate at least every other oil change ,

I think I'm going to add these to my shortlist of tires. Currently running 245/75R16 Firestone Destination AT's. They're a great tire for my driving, 90% pavement and 10% farm (sometimes muddy) and gravel roads. I'm also looking at Falken Wildpeak XL or another set of Firestones. Money is a concern with about 650 bucks to burn

Just ordered a set of Cooper Discoverer AT/3s for my truck, size 225/70R15. I got a hell of a deal, they arrive at the shop of my friend who's a former Volvo mechanic tomorrow, and he will be installing on Wednesday morning!
