Are the 4S SL one directional or can the RWL face in?

    Canada Eh!
They are not directional and can be mounted whichever way.

Can anyone chime in about the weight difference between 265 70 17 4S SL and LT?

The weights are listed on the Cooper website.

For those of you in Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, and Wisconsin I stumbled on a great deal at Blaine's Farm and Fleet today.
They're running a "Buy 3 and get one free" sale this week. The AT3 4S that I've been planning to buy is one of the tires included.
It works out to be $127.49 each for 265/70/17. That saves $130 for the set as compared to Tire Rack and Discount Tire.
I planning on going back tomorrow to pick them up, even though I don't have my Sport yet!

    EDIT:
The fine print says they need to mount the tires to get the sales price.
    Bummer.....

    Wouldn't you like to know!
Picked up a set of AT3 XLT's a couple weeks ago! This is my 2nd set of AT3's but first in 285's. Really enjoying them so far!

Looking at these in 265/75/16. The xlt has an obvious sidewall advantage that I can clearly see in pictures but doesn’t come in that size. As for the 4S and LT versions do they have the same sidewalls?

If you have a 2.7 SR you should get the 4S to limit the weight. What is your intended use, the LT is a little tougher for wheeling. I believe the weight different between the 4s and LT is like 6lbs per tire.

Usage-about 5,000 miles a year pavement. Some rocky off-road and lots of gravel. Never much mud. I avoid that now a days. Haul 2 enduro bikes 5-10 times a year in the back. Also have scs f5 wheels ready to go when I decide on tires. The wheels are much lighter than the Toyota steeelies. Almost half the weight.

Sort of figured that just can’t find a good photo highlighting those differences. Or it’s hard to see if not in person. Either way I’m sure they’re great tires.

the tread between the LT & XLT is the same. the only difference aside from total size is the sidewall adornment. larger sidewall so more adornment.

I would go 4S, XL and XLT will be overkill for you.

I was looking at getting Cooper AT3 4s in 245-75-16 (stock) but saw on Walmart.com they now have the Cooper Discoverer A/T and it looks like the original AT3. The price for the A/T is $96.99 which is quite a bit cheaper than the 4s. My question is, is this probably just a “cheaper tire” as in not as good of a rubber compound and will wear significantly faster? Kinda a get what you pay for situation? Anyone have any experience with this tire?

It’s not so much the wear but the winter won’t be as good as the 4S and the 4S will be quieter because of the change to tread pattern.

    Bunch of Basic Taco mods.

265/75/16 Cooper AT3 4S’s went on. Had a nice long drive today to drop off Easter gifts for family in the next town over since we can’t spent the weekend together. Quieter than I thought AT’s would be on the highway and I’m really impressed so far.
