    I definitely will!

The one thing I have noticed just hitting a few of the dirt/rocky trails in the National forest land we live next to is that these tires break free easier than the Kenda’s. You could really gun the Kenda’s and they just hook up and the way you go. But I’ve noticed these tires break loose easier so I can’t hit the throttle quite as much without the rear end breaking free.

Other than that, I haven’t noticed much of a difference off road in the limited miles I’ve put on them. Definitely ride better and are quieter with less rolling resistance than the Kenda’s. So overall I’m very pleased with them. Will be hitting Moab and also the White Rim trail again next month so that will give me a really good indication on how they perform off road compared to the Kenda’s. Will post an update when we get back.

I will preface by saying I really like these tires and will probably get another set when the time comes but after almost 20k miles I'm starting to notice some strange wear patterns on the inside/outside tread knobs on all of the tires. There is more tread one side of each knob than the other. I rotate them regularly and run 34-35 psi in them cold (265/75R16 LT C load). Am I running the wrong pressure or is this common for these tires? TIA!

I noticed it as well, I do cross rotations and check alignment every 6 months. It's just the nature of the tread.

Do you rotate side to side? It reverses the tread direction and helps promote better wear.

I'm pretty sure they do that (toyota has been doing my rotations as a part of the 2 year free maintenance thing). Once it's up in September I will start doing it myself.

I have this also. At ~40K miles on 265/75/R16 C-load tires, been getting the strange half knob wear on outer shoulder knobs. I rotate every 5K miles myself, fronts cross and go to rear, rears come straight forward. Also thought it was alignment but have had 2 alignments and installed SPC’s to further dial in alignment and the wear patterns has continued. It’s not terrible, but it makes for a little more noise as they wear.

Added a few photos and my latest alignment for reference. Only reason tie was out was because I put on the SPC’s before that alignment. It was good before that.

I’m getting good even wear otherwise, at 40K I’m just down to the wear bars. Having said that, I’m getting new tires today. Going with Toyo ATIII’s in 255/80/R17 this time around. If Cooper made the XLT’s in the 255 I would have considered them, I’ve been happy with the LT’s. Curious to get a 3 peak rated tire for winter though.

More than two times the total -toe than spec. Reduce caster and get the toe into spec.

You talking about my alignment actual/after Alignment numbers? 0.06 on each and total of 0.13 seems to be right in the middle of the ranges specified.

I didn’t drive more than 7 miles on the before numbers. That was only after I installed new UCA’s. Before UCA install, alignment was the same as actual only with 1.9 and 1.6 caster. Toe got thrown off with new UCA.

Caster is good, balanced is all that matters.

Toe 0.06 I actually like it higher on trucks. Nothing wrong.

Yes, I should have been more specific. The before toe numbers were a major contributor to the scuffing. I still would have reduced caster. If you drive primarily freeway it will be fine. High caster numbers will increase steering effort.

Yeah, I wasn’t driving around for 5k+ miles on those before #’s. I installed UCA’s and drove ~7 miles to alignment on the before numbers.

I need to dig out my previous alignment sheet but it was the same as actual shown above just with lower caster. I drove on that alignment for ~15K miles. I’ve had 3 alignments attempt to address the wear and finally bought UCA’s to see if that was it. My point is I find it unlikely my previous alignment (before UCA install) contributed to the wear pattern. I think if others are seeing it also, it has to do with tread pattern. Wondering with the wear bars stiffen one area allowing it not to deform like the other part of the tread block?

    I
I would stick with alignment being the issue. Tread may just be more susceptible to a bad alignment. Once the wear is there it is there. Fixing alignment won't correct the wear.

Got it. Definitely been chasing this for the last 20k on these tires. But if it’s true once you get the funny wear there is no way to wear them back into shape, then it’s possible an early alignment issue caused this.

Just picked up my 2nd set of these. Wont be ready for them for a few months, but since there was a rebate, I'll let them sit in my guest room until I'm ready.

Leaning towards the XLT 285/75/16 size (32.6 / 11.6) on stock suspension.

CMC, trimming, and pinch weld already taken care of.

Stock tires are 30.6 / 10.7 on -12 offset rims, initial measurements say they won’t rub (need to do some more testing) but I know I’m pushing it with this size and no lift.

Anyone have these in 315/75r/16? Looking for a quiet tire with good wet traction. Don’t a big deal about snow, I’m in Houston and I’ve hardly seen it..

One of the lightest tires in that size at 63 lbs.

I was waffling back and forth till I was honest about my usage. 99% on road so I went with 4S. The weight savings in comparable sizes and gas mileage decrease over the life of the tire compared to LT/XLT is significant.

Kind of my thoughts and should do better in Indiana winter. They don't offer it in what I'm running 276/70/17 , although there 285/70/17 treadd isn't as deep as lt/XLT and only 32.73 on dia.I hope it will work but may end up doing a 1" body lift.
