Anyone use the ats3 4s? Looking for a better tire for snow without getting snow tires. The only issues I have is it’s a SL ply rating. I plan to have over 500lbs in the bend at all times(wedge camper). So debating if I should just go to the at3 Lt or just straight to the st maxx?

    So I have about 25-30,000kms on my SL 265/70R16 at3 4s's

Great all around performance, but they are wearing rapidly for my liking, from 14/32nd new they are 8-9/32nd now. I get that they are softer for all weather performance but they are not ideal for the long haul for me.

I'm deciding between a winter set now or selling them early and getting an LT tire with the 3 peak rating.

I drive mostly highway, and a short gravel road every day.

Alignment is bang on, checked twice, and new rear shocks.

How’s gas mileage and driving with E rated tires? I want the LTs but have never had E rated before...

no problem. i didn't lose any mileage going from C to E. but i run 265/70-17, so they're not as heavy as 33's or larger.

I had my first set of Cooper Discoverer AT/3s installed back in March or April of 2019; As of this post I've almost 30K miles on them and they virtually no signs of wear! Currently in the process of trying to convince my dad to get a set for his 2018 GMC Yukon SLT!

Anyone with 265/75/r16 AT3 LTs in C rating care to share some photos or their review of the tire? C-rating seems the way to go for me, but I'm always open to input. Fire roads/forest roads to get me to the next trailhead off-roading for me; both winter and summer. Monday-Thursday pavement.

    Cheers, mates!

Question on wet/snow performance of AT3 4S. At close-up, it looks like it has more siping in the tread pattern compared to most other AT tires. Usually the dedicated winter tires have multiple siping lines at closer spacing. This leads me to believe that this particular AT tire will do well in snowy conditions. Thoughts or experiences?

Moved to a set of AT3 4S from Michelin M/S2s, which for my money are the standard for a dedicated road tire. After 10K miles, I’ve seen no noticeable difference driving in the rain and have been very pleased. Not seen enough snow in Central PA to comment, but nothing leads me to believe they’ll do poorly.

I put a set of these in 285/75/16 E rated on my diesel a couple months ago. I looked through a lot of tires, and compared user reviews, mileage warranties, and price points. I was hoping to find Hankook Dynapro ATM, but the size and load range were not available as they now have their second gen of the ATM out.

My truck took a hit on fuel economy, but I also went from 31 to 33 inch tires and the tires gained weight, so it was to be expected.

I live in the country, on a gravel road. We are now at the time of year where snow flies, and I've been getting around in the snow just fine. My truck also weighs 7000 lbs, so it tends to sink through the snow pretty well.

    Cons:
I found several reviews claiming some of these tires came out of round.
I got a tire that I'm pretty sure came out of round.
Within the first 30 days of having these tires on, I was towing a poorly loaded trailer that ended up spinning me around on a highway. In the process, a rear tire started to bubble, and while trying to readjust the load on the trailer, the tire blew. The retailer took care of me and replaced the tire at no cost to me.

    Pros:
These have a high mileage warranty compared to most other tires
These tires are pretty readily available
These seem to have pretty good traction through snow, even the sloppy stuff
These are still cheaper for the same size of duratracs.

When I had my 2011 Taco, these were in the top 3 of tires I was looking at getting (Hankook Dynapro ATM, Cooper Discover AT3, Cooper Discover ATP)

I've had my ATS 4s 265/75/16 on since July here in Ohio. They ride great on the roads better then stock an handling. Wet roads an heavy rains they performed great, I definitely pushed them at times on wet/dry roads just to see.
Got snow 1st week of Dec where I'm at. Just in time for deer season. They handled ice an snow covered roads, logging trails like a champ, I was impressed for an A/T. Later in week it was pretty much mud, had no problems, not as good as an M/T but didn't get stuck an they didn't load up as bad as I thought they would. Will do tire rotation during oil changes.
This is my daily, I'd say 75% roads an highway driving. Time will tell how well they hold up, I generally don't run same tire again (except for drag radials on my cars) , like to try new things but I'd definitely recommend them so far. My initial decision was Copper or Falcon, decided support Ohio based company and after reading all good reviews.

I went to these tires from the STT PRO’s and not happy with my decision. Main reason for going to these was better grip on the wet because I bought a monster boat (5500lbs) and was scared of the boat ramp traction. Well, they’re not as good looking, less traction off road, and the wet traction feels the same. I think I’m going back
