Looking to run 16x8 ET0 with 285/75/16 see as a couple people have done so without rubbing.

Now I’m thinking I could squeeze a 295/75/16 with some trimming.

Wanted to offer a bit more information. For the Cooper AT3 XLT you can certainly run them either way. One way to tell is by looking at the tread design. If the tire is a Symmetrical tread pattern (the left and right side of the tire is the same) then the tire can be mounted either direction. Some tires are what's call Asymmetrical (left and right tread design are different) so they are only able to be mounted one way on the wheel. Most tire manufacturers will put an Inside/Outside indication on the tires to let the tire tech know which side needs to be mounted facing out.

For more information on the tread designs

Hopefully getting a set of these installed today before the snow. went with the 265/75/16's, I hear they'll fit fine on my stock 2021 SR5 but I'm keeping the stock tires just in case.

Just had my new Discoverer AT3 4S 265/75/16's installed at Mavis, and I like them a lot so far. They feel pretty beefy and anchored to the road, and a little "softer" than my stock 2021 SR5 tires, which felt jittery and honestly I think were slightly out of balance from the dealer. (They didn't think so, of course, and didn't bother to check the balancing)

I did as much research as I could, but I had a couple questions on my ride home I figured I'd ask here-

-How off is my speedometer going to be, if at all, and is there a way to correct it?

-anyone at all experience any rubbing with these tires on a stock SR5 or similar model, and what were they doing to cause it?

-it looks like these are SL rated tires, which I thought was standard with the 4S - only other option was upgrading to the LT when I picked them out - I don't really plan on offroading but I assume some rocky dirt trails are okay? I'm not mountain climbing or anything, maybe just the abandoned road by my house that has some pools of water and chunky rocks sticking up out of.

just something a little different, haven't seen these particular tires here yet. an unexpected bit of work went into getting these all fitted up. AT3 LT E 285/65-17 with a little custom JDM treatment with the wheels. now both my vehicles are running 285 tires.

Working well so far! Very good grip on some pretty poor roads. Haven't had to use 4WD much.

I've had two sets now and the best I could do was find a lowest price on the internet and then I went the local dealer and they priced matched

Yes, a few times a year Cooper tire runs a manufacturers mail in rebate on them. We also run periodic promotions that they qualify for. PM on the way.

Thinking about the AT3 4S in 245/75-16 for my SR5. Heard just a few mention cupping. Is that common or maybe just an issue for their specific vehicle?

The Cooper AT3 is a solid choice. We would love to earn your business. PM on the way.

Regarding the Cupping; Tire cupping is an irregular wear pattern that can be caused by a number of factors. Usually lack of, or improper tire maintenance or a worn vehicle component is the cause.

Is anyone running the AT3 4S in a SL 285/70/17? I'm trying to decide if the 11 lbs of weight saved compared to the AT3 XLT E 285/70/17 is worth the not as aggressive side wall on the 4S. Especially since I don't need an E-load tire. The 4S in this size comes in at 45 lbs where the XLT comes in at 56 lbs. I've read through most of this thread and don't think this has been discussed yet.

Just recently swapped out my AT3s. Cant say enough about them. They were a fantastic tire, never had an issue with them over 55,XXX miles.

Now Kentucky isnt know for its deep snow or ice but we get enough every year to close down the major roads and towns after a good snow storm. Probably 8-12 inches of snow a year with at least 2 ice events. Leaving for work before the dawn and salt trucks was not an issue. You gotta pay attention and have some common sense but i always had good traction with the AT3s in snow so long as it didnt get to the bumper.

Mud, i do some light off-roading to get to a fishing spot, camping and cutting through some trails etc. Not a serious off roader by any stretch, 100% "weekend warrior" but traction was never a problem and we didnt change plans for rain/mud. Had them on for 54,000 miles before i even thought about replacing them. Was cutting through a field back in December after a big storm hit and almost got stuck. Only took the field because the main road was impassible. Weighed down pretty heavy and I DIDNT AIR DOWN so that had EVERYTHING to do with it and that was MY MISTAKE, not the tire. But at about 54k miles, it was the first time traction had even crossed my mind.

Started looking for another set of AT3 just to have on hand when the ones i had were done. I saw the ST Maxx on sale while checking out and ended up going with the Maxx. Think the price difference shipped between the two was something like $150 for a set of 4? It was a killer deal that I couldn't pass up.

Ill snag a picture and measurements after work but i kept the AT3 as a backup set. They're still in good shape, just after that storm, wanted either a new set or something a little chunkier this time around. For the price, the AT3 is a hard one to beat and a solid choice for anyone that wants a tire that just fits the bill for a solid all terrain tire. Had every intention of getting another set, that Maxx deal was just too good to pass up.

    EDIT: AT3s were 265/75/16LT

Edit 2: Math was off. Thought I had 177k miles on the truck. I’m at 193k. I put them on at 136k, swapped them a month ago so it’s more like 55k miles on the tires. Not 43k
