    This times 1000!!!

I'm on my second set of 275/70-17 Load Range C AT3s on my 2006 Tacoma after managing to get over 55K miles out of the first set. They are simply the best all around tire I've owned and I've had everything from Pirellis to ProComps to Nittos to BFGs and all the rest. I think I paid under $800 out-the-door from Discount Tire and that included the lifetime rotate/balance and road hazard warranty. Great highway manners, but really outstanding off road capability. Sure makes life simple not having to worry about tires anymore.....

Put a set of P265/60R18 Cooper Discoverer A/T3 tires on my 2013 Tacoma today. I finally had to replace the Michelins that I drove off the lot with three years ago after one developed a slow leak and another found a large screw. I was a little worried they would be louder than my previous tires, but so far so good.

I love this site for the feedback and reviews. It really helps to narrow down when considering a purchase.

**EDIT** I should have mentioned to the tire guys to put the white lettering out, it sure looks sharp. Oh well, next time...

I believe that the AT3 is a later designed tire than the ATP. I believe the AT3 has a better tread and is quieter. Just my opinion. I chose the AT3.

how do you like the at3 for comfort, road noise and wet traction compared to the ms2?

Did you get P rated in the at3?

they don't need nails or screws or shale puncturing their tires either, but that doesn't seem to stop them from doing it. :D

C load is a good compromise for people who want a tougher tire. Depending on the terrain you see off-road, it makes sense for a lot of people.

Thanks for the thorough review BTW. Considering these tires on my Sequoia to replace the worn-out Michelins.

Thanks. Yeah they get lots of good reviews but I'm looking for feedback comparing it to the ms2, because both are terrific tires.

You had them off road yet? Thinking of getting p rated on my next set to save on weight, but worried about punctures

The Load rating of a tire has nothing to do with its puncture resistance and everything to do with its ability to hold higher air pressure in order to carry a heavier load. The modern "ply rating" is a joke. An 8 ply tire doesn't have 8 plys, it just has the "rating" of 8 plys. If a stick, rock, or nail is going to find it's way into your tire it won't matter the load rating. I've shredded E load tires just as often as I've shredded P rated tires. I off-road quite often and heavily with these new P rated Coopers and I've yet to even scratch the sidewall.

LT tires have thicker sidewalls than P rated tires. Load C, D and E have increasingly stronger carcasses at the tread/contact part of the tire and thus, are more resistant. Load rating has to do with strength so it can handle more air and more weight.... but those characteristics also make it more resistant to puncture. Think this screw wouldn't have gone through a P rated tire?
