Is that an load range E tire? I was wondering with all the guys running 265/70R17's if they were P or LT "E" rated.

they are rated E1. got the LT tires because they are more cut resistant while offroading and seem to handle being aired down better.

I've been rolling with the "PT" version (it is not the P nor the LT but in between) for over a year now and 7 wheeling trips later; no issues with mine offroad. I've put them through their paces too; rocks, trees, wedged style trails where you are cramming tire sidewalls into a wall, wheel speed, etc. Only a couple of spots have I found that I really wished I had some meaty lugs, but been pleased otherwise.

I do a lot back country driving in Socal looking for spots to hunt. There's a little bit of everything, rocks, sand, mud, and some sharp rocks. The tires I have now are LT, but I don't want to fork out the cash for LT unless I really need them. Will the standard ATP handle such terrain or should I go LT. I don't carry anything heavy or tow anything to justify the LT tires, but I use them for the 10 ply aspect. Opinions??

I have been considering these, mostly because of their price. I had my heart set on 265/75/16 MT-R's but these are like half the price...

bump for the LT vs P situation. i do 95% highway so im thinking P but dont know what side wall toughness im giving up. I currently have duratracs and havent had any sidewall damage, although i did poke a hole in the tread on the trail the other day

I assume the P (or PT version) would work fine for this truck for the bed payload? i dont have a trailer and really dont haul anything anyway.

When I switched to yoko ats I went with lt d load range, only difference I noticed was a slight drop in mpg. I'm doing it again with my 4 runner but this time ill try p rated. Save the gas and go with p if you don't offroad

Just got these tires due to a heavy snow storm in Ohio where I was visiting family.. paid 480 installed and out the door (LT 265/75R16) and they worked absolutely amazing in 8-10 inches of snow. Get pretty good traction in 2 wheel alone in the snow. Anyway, didn't notice a drop in fuel economy on the 6hr ride home

I just ordered a set of these ATP's for my truck.. Got the P rated 265/75r16's for $132 each..And they have a promo going on to give $50 off on all orders..Price was $478 from Discounttiredirect.com.

Going to be a winter highway tire.. Toyota will install for $20 each. I also got a set of FJ TRD wheels in silver waiting at Toyota for when these tires come in. Might get a set of summer tires for the Anthracites or sell them.

Can someone with the ATP tires in non-LT model give us the sidewall ply from the tire?
I can't seem to find an authoritative answer on that and the best way is to just read the tire itself.
