I haven't had any trouble with them cutting or whatever where I go. Now granted, it isn't the rubicon either. They will be fine for the weekend trip to the river or mountains if you don't drop your pressures too low. I see no need to go lower than 18-20 PSI for what I run on and unless you have bias ply tires on a rock buggy with beadlocks, you problably don't need to. Given this, the lower pressure will help the tires comply to the terrain rather than fight it being over inflated, or bind up and get pinched while underinflated.

Your mileage may vary, this is my experience.

so what is the difference between cooper discoverer atp and hankook dynapro atm (both SL load rated). from americastire website, the price difference for a set is about $100 (cooper is more expensive $678 vs $582 out the door price). is it worth paying $100 more to get the cooper?

I do not see any sale right now, I guess when they offer those visa rebate cards, I will buy a set then.

I'm still trying to figure out the difference tween my At3's and the Atp's...all I see is a little bit heaftier outside tread lug... And price... Other than that all seems the same

These tires are not on the Canadian Cooper tires website. Are they only sold in the U.S.?

I have had both the Dynapro and the Coopers. Both were excellent tires and I wouldn't hesitate to get either of them again.

I don't know what the difference is between the two tires but I paid $580 OTD for my Cooper's at Discount Tire.

I bought a set of atp's recently and am very satisfied. My pops has the Hankook dynapro atm on his ford and I've pulled him out of a sticky situation a few times already. So I think the cooper's are a bit more aggressive.

OK, after 2.5 years and 30K miles, I've finally had enough of my KM2's. They got extremely loud over the past few months and I couldn't take any more. They still have about 1/2 the tread left, but I took them off this morning and replaced them with ATP's in 265/75/16's. Didn't get the LTs and the ride is amazing because of it. Only have about 50 miles on them, but I'm liking them so far. Definitely satisfied with them.

    Bumping an old thread...

Who's put some decent miles on the Cooper ATP's? (Discount/Americas Tire) I'm wondering how they're holding up and how they're performing once they have some miles on 'em.

I just put a set on my Tacoma, my Jeep Cherokee AND my Dodge Ram 1500. Really. The Jeep and the Dodge have needed tires for a while, and the Tacoma is new to me. I got a bit of a bulk discount as you might imagine.

So far I've put some street miles on the Tacoma and some brief trail time in the Sierras - very little snow. The Tacoma has no armor / recovery options yet and I was solo so I was pretty conservative. I also didn't air down as it was a short excursion and considering that the tires did very well on granite, loose dirt, and mild mud (decomposed granite, not sticky...).

Too poor to list anything interesting.
I've had mine on for about 15,000 miles. So far, they've worked great for me. On the wet roads, I do not worry about gripping issues. Off road, they've performed better than that I initially expected. They've been wearing great. I hardly notice any uneven spots.

I'm looking at upgrading to the 255 cooper st maxx at the end of the year, or early next year. I'll probably hand these tires over to my girlfriend knowing they'll still perform great.

I have around 5k miles or so on mine right now (265/75/R16) All of it has been highway and or snow driving. Have to say they are a lot better then the DynaPro Atms I replaced. I have had a lot of alignment issues and now the dealer has completely ruined the tie rods so I do have some cutting of the outside edges but they are holding up extremely well. Really quiet on the road. Lots of grip on snow and wet conditions. I did try messing around in about 2 feet of snow. Didnt get stuck but it didnt really like it. Since its a soft side wall I wouldnt hard wheel them but I dont seem them having a problem with some mild stuff. Hard to beat discount tire directs price and the 55k mile warranty on them. I will only be putting Coopers on my tacoma from now on

    Update on these:

So as I said I put these on three vehicles at once, E rated 265/75 R16's on the Dodge, and "SL" 265/70 R16's on both the Jeep and the Tacoma. They feel great on the road on each of these vehicles, a great improvement for each one. I've had the opportunity to get the Tacoma out in the mountains a bit and have been impressed with these tires off road as well. I expected great performance in the snow and they do provide that, I have only had them in about 12 inches of mixed new fallen and old slush, but they did great. I was pleasantly surprised with how well they did in mud though, significantly better performance there than the Bridgestone Revo and BFG AT's that I have had in the exact same area.

On the Tacoma I have noticed some early morning wheel shimmy for the first couple of miles a few times. I'm not driving the other vehicles as much so I can't say if they are doing the same. Seems like parking induced flat spotting that smooths out quickly. Could be just one tire, I'll rotate them soon and see what I get.
