The problem is there is no proof you had the correct card at the time, the cop could say "he didn't show me a valid card", you say "I did and this is it" but there is no proof that the one you have in your hand today is the one that you showed the cop. You could have found the correct one between the time you got the ticket and the time you plead your case.

I think most cops would be cool about if you can get a hold of him and explain your situation and take the hit on the speading you would probably be ok.

Dont call the pd thats not going to help your issue. Its annoying to say the least. Also we (at my department) dont have the power to dismiss tickets only the p.a. or the judge can do it. Unless its an insurance ticket. In that case you need to go into court offices and talk to someone. I tell people to wait 5 business days so that the court will have a copy of the ticket. Take your proof of insurance to them and show them that it was valid at the time of stop and the ticket will be dismissed. (thats how my department does it anyways). We don't have any dismissal fee either. Good luck

    New truck....so nothing yet
When I was an LEO here, we could also dismiss/drop tickets. No fee here either. At least not when I left.

Do you work in a larger city where the courts are backed up? Maybe thats why they give you a little more ability? Or it could because i work a dept that you have to ask to pee :D

nope...all my cases except felony cases go to trial within a month or 2...no back up...

it just makes sense that the officer bringing the charges/prosecuting the case would be the one being able to dismiss or nol pros the charges

yeah i heard of stuff gettin dropped if the cop makes a mistake.

on a side note i got pulled over for speeding and got a tint ticket one time but it was in another county the cop said i could just pay the ticket or have the tint taken off

long story short i just went and found a car just like mine without tint and took a picture of it and sent it into the court and got it dismissed lmao but you definitely dont wanna get caught again with it lol

dont know if you can do that but it worked for me and i hope it all works out for you
