I think 2 sets of wheels/tires would help me prolong tire life. ATs for everyday driving and a set of MTs strictly for off road.

Yeah it would for sure. I know wheeling my ATs really reduced the life span. But I'll run MTs for now on as sometimes it isn't possible for me to swap.

I'm thinking some cheap Pro Comps or even some basic steelies for my off road tires, and my nicer methods for every day driving. Hell, I'm thinking of some tall pizza cutters for my next off road tires!

I've got allied steel beadlocks still a $350 wheel and the iroks are around 1600 soooooo...,...... But when you get them in a parts smorgasbord galore (where your gas tank skid came from) for $1600 what do you do

Yeah I'm not a big fan of the pizza cutters other than it keeps rotational mass and weight down plus a little less trimming needed.

I ran pizza cutters, the old school Buckshots, on my '91 back when I had it. That thing was a mud beast! lol

I'm gonna run either a 255/75 or 255/80. I've been reading up and even with the 255/80's it didn't make a regear or CMC necessary. I'm more of an offroad camper, so I think those will work for me.

I hope I can find a set of 4.30's from a 3rd gen and swap those if I have to regear :D

I love the way my 16s look and ride. Got a pretty good deal on the tires too.

Unless you can find 4.30s in something other than a TRD OR. The 3rd gen TRD OR and manual trucks have a 8.75 ring gear for the rear thus not working with our trucks rear unless you get the whole MT rear assembly from the junk yard. I had 285/70r17s same as the 255s essentially and didn't need a regear. But with the skinnies being lighter you'll definitely have a peppier feeling truck and for your needs they'll probably be perfect. That being said I know someone that ran 4.56s even with the skinnies and loved that combo.

Well shit, lesson learned for the day. I thought they would work. Well, if I do need to regear.....I'll just go with ARB's too

Yeah the turd gens actually got something good for once . They do make 4.30s for our trucks nitrogear so you could get away with a 3rd gen front set and then just having the rear regeared

I figure if I'm having to go to all that trouble, I might as well get 4.56 with ARB's at that point :D
I was just thinking I good be a cheap bastard and grab some 3rd gen ones from someone getting new gears and throw them in if needed

On the way out, let’s see if we can support our hobby and haul some trash bags out!

I'll bring a box of trash bags with us and we'll pack out more than we packed in. I support this and hate littering on the trail. It's what has closed down a lot of trails around here, senseless dumping of litter.
