I need to replace my seats in my '97 Tacoma extra cab, because my drivers seat is ripped and lost some of the stuffing and it is getting uncomfortable for long trips. I have been looking into the Corbeau Sport, Moab and Baja seats, since it will cost about the same as getting new cusions and upholstery from the dealer. Need to look into upholstery shops for pricing and to see what they can do.

I am wondering if the Moab, Sport and/or baja seats, sit similar to the oem seats. I have been told to just repair my seats, because aftermarket seats might not fit correctly or sit higher or angled differently. I know Corbeau has bolt in brackets for their seats that bolt right in to the stock locations. Juat looking for user reviews about how they sit in the truck, seat height and angle compared to the stock seats.

I am interested in this also for my 04, Corbeau is the only company I have seen so far that has direct bolt in.

They fit just fine...you need to buy the bracket for your taco year...got the baja xrs...needed to buy grade 8steel bolts for seat belts...the seat belt bolts on the stock seats are welded to the stock seats. You will need to use a dremel to shave off the excess bolt to fit next to the arm rest...Plus when installing be sure to unplug the battery before unplugging the airbag sensor on the seatbelt...one of the best mods Ive done as you enjoy the comfort every time you get in the ride. Took about an hour...its worth it to get the lumbar support IMG_4457.jpg IMG_4459.jpg

Replaced stock radio with a Pioneer AVH series head unit. Focal component system w/a 10" sub powered by 2 Alpine amps. Weathertech floor mats. Line-X'd the bed. SCS Ray 10’s, Installed an A.R.E. MX series camper shell. All-Pro Apex front bumper w/ All-Pro skid plates all the way back to the Trans. Low Range fuel skid plate.
Cerrullo also has bolt on, you would just have to order the bracket that corresponds to your vehicle. They appear to be better quality IMO.

I got lucky and found some Tacoma LTD seats locally.

I like the Baja XRS, but don't know if I want to spend the extra money over the Baja XR.

They look like they fit pretty similar to the stock seats. Can you measure from the floor board to the top of the seat, so I can compare the seat height between the two?

I assume you mean Baja XP??? That's a fixed back seat...aka no adjustability, not sure your gonna be happy going that route. Just my .02 but if your even considering Corbeau seats, save up enough money or go the PayPal credit route...etc and get what your are gonna really like in the long run. The Baja XRS are great seats and fit like stock seats....I mean if your 6'8" and that worried your heads gonna be on the roof then get a Honda Element :rofl:all kidding aside I can get your measurement later but if you look at the pic he posted you can pretty much tell the height by looking at the passenger seat in reference to the seat belt.

    Thanks for your help.

Actually, I meant the Baja RS. From the pic the XRS does look pretty similar in height, compared to my stock seats, when looking at the door. I am guessing the RS will be the same. I am 6'1" and I am sitting as high up in the truck as I want to be, right now

Don't think that I'm going to get the XRS. They are about $140 more than the RS and I could use that money towards other things for my truck.

I talked with a Corbeau dealer about ordering the seats and he was trying to talk me out of them asking me if I was sure that's what I want to do, because they might not sit right and I might end up sitting higher in the truck, than with the stock seats. So, I thought I'd ask actual owners, here, before I decide what to do. I've read good things about the Corbeau's, comfort wise and that's why I am leaning towards them.

One thing I read from a Baja RS owner on another site is that someone said that he would hit his head trying to get in the door because of the height of the bolster.

The height of wear your arse will be resting is 4" from the floor...measured by the base of driver side door, head rest is 9+ inches from the ceiling...don't pay for a recovering of your seats, and like log cabins said, the non reclining seats will not be comfortable...save your money and get new ones...I'm 6'1" and 185 lbs n wish I did this six years ago

I had the split 60/40 bench as well....you can take the seat belt connectors off the seat, at least I was able to.
