    x2 on the vote for just leaving it with only the lower half, if you go any higher you'll half to also do the lower surround of the grill so the strip of red won't look out of place. thus creating a full evo mod look. :thumbsup: Looks good though

    So I just get my lights all plugged back into the truck with the new projector lenses in them...Looks great.

    But when I go to start my truck it shoots to about 2K on the tach and then idles out. I've cleaned the grounds and checked all the plugs already. Curious if anyone has seen anything like this before....

    I have a hard time wrapping my head around it. It was running fine the other day before I started working and I haven't run it since then.

    The lights work, the truck starts, but acts funny I was praying it was the grounds, but I sanded the eyes all clean and re tightened them....No joy. Disconnected the wiring harness and the problem remains....

    Anybody think this fast idle up and die sounds like anything in specific?

    what is your set-up ie, projectors ballast wattage and harness?

    i'm not sure how this could effect your trucks engine though. it may be coincidental or maybe your battery or your alternator is on it's way out and not able to keep up? or maybe its a ballast.

    lets say your running a 35 watt ballast once the lights are operating at temp they should only draw 35 watts. when you initially fire them up however for a split second they do take a good bit more energy to ignite the bulb maybe your ballast is acting up some how.

    i wish i had an explanation for you cause this sucks lol the retrofit process is rugged to do nicely and then to have this on top of it stinks man.

    Really happy with how they look...but if I can't get my truck to hold an idle-It won't matter....


    Hans-They are 35 Watt lights- Every thing (HIDs, CCFLs, etc) lights up fine and the truck starts-I'm worried it might be the alternator... Somehow the playing around sent it on it's way to car part heaven or something....

    i think it is the injector resistor pack and if i remember right it has to be grounded with that 10mm bolt

    So that box was not seated in the plug from when I moved stuff around to fit the ballasts in....So my truck is idling about 2K right now...but it stays on. I played with the EFI fuses...so I think the idle will come back down.

    The mystery box-What does it do??
