My problem with the noise is a little worse with having the crawl box too. With it being gear driven, it just compounds the noise problem

Done. The T-handle is the shit! And I like the added gear noise.

I thought I'd provide a review of the shifter after over a month of use. Shifting was quite stiff at first, but is quite smooth now after breaking in. The notchiness of shifting before install is practically gone. The shifts are deliberate and smooth. 1st, 3rd, and 5th gears didn't feel like they were fully engaged so I removed the padding from inside the shifter boot to allow more room for the shifter to move forward, and now it is perfect (see photo below). I didn't mind the added gear noise, but decided to try to eliminate it by stuffing insulation around the the bottom of the shifter and into the cutout (see photo). Gear noise is almost entirely gone. The T-handle is awesome. I can't imagine ever using anything else. Nor can I imagine ever going back to the original shifter. Quick downshifts while offroad one of the biggest advantages that I have encountered. I simply love this upgrade.

The piece of padding that I referred to[IMG]

And how I stuffed the insulation to reduce trans noise[IMG]

I bought the TRD shortshifter. Anyone have any thoughts on this vs the TRD one ignoring price difference?

I think a plastic hammer is suggested in the instructions or a diy on here.

Send a pic of what your shifter looks like right now. Mine came right off once all the fasteners were off.
