    hello folks,

I just installed a Core/hurst short throw shifter in my 2019 manual off road tacoma. After the install I let the gasket sealer sit for about 30 minutes before leisurely testing it out to the store (under 4 miles).

It feels fantastic!! Not for everyone, but it was a major improvement in my mind. On my way home from the store I noticed there was a strange “vacuum” sound coming from under the shift boot. Knowing what I know.. which isn’t much, I am assuming it’s the vent hose or part of the seal on the vent hose. It’s more prominent while accelerating and also has a kind of rattle to it. I just got home and don’t have the time to disassemble everything again to check on it.

Should I stop driving it? Does anyone have any guesses as to what might be the case?

Shifter installs are pretty straight forward. I am just worried there may have been a quality control issue around the rubber vent hose connection.

Has anyone else installed this configuration or had similar issues with the URD short throw (I know those are more commonly talked about on here)?

    Cool stuff
did you ever get back in the shifter and see what it was. i had a hard time getting that breather line put all the way on, i probably got it half way on so far. I think im having the same noises come from my shift kit
