IME, the Core Shifter guy is a bit like dealing with the Soup Nazi.

just gotta take it on stride fellas. initially when i ordered from him, i wanted a different shaft. i get this email from him, dude was basically drilling me out cause the shaft i wanted was from a mustang lol. i just told em that i wanted the shortest possible throw without effing anything up. chris was reluctant because it was tarnishing his product that he formulated specifically for this truck. hey i respect that. in the end he told me he would make me a one off, which im super grateful for. he got the sale and i got a bad ass unit with an ultra short throw.

This is the reason that I'm staying away and can't abide that. His IP the Core itself. The shaft and knob aren't some piece of art. Hell, they look like shit to me. I just want the Core base and bracket. LoL!

Dood doesn't know his market. Of course, it looks like he is selling well, so it could be said that I know nothing. :D

similar. after i finally got a dialog with him after a few tries, he did give me super helpful info and pointed me toward a solution and was even nice about it. actually it was the short arm from the mustang, possibly the same one you mentioned.

No doubt. It's just a reflection of myself. Even my best work is not some crowning achievement in the world. Some of it was really fun and unique stuff in its own way, but in the larger view, just a cog in the wheel. I will never change the world, no matter what the movies say.

I can't feed into peeps who have zero introspection. It's a principal thing.

Massive props to you and @subrat , being able to get past that.

what you know just doesn't matter if you prefer a good shift. remember i had the same attitude after he cancelled me, it pissed me off pretty good. after i decompressed from that i came around, bought one, and can't believe i waited this long. if you are a MT guy THIS is the shifter you want! omg I'm repeating myself.

i promise if you get one you'll never look back.

fair enough Tony but you're the one missing the shifts!

I'm a bad influence? I pull at all the wrong nerves. :D

With all my past MTs being on linkages or cables and nothing that we can do to get it on the same plane as the Miata (duh!), I'm kinda just banking on my bad attitude and the pretty good nature of the stocker?

ole boy is actually super knowledgable about his product, i think the reason WHY hes so defensive is because he got burnt before from people ordering the wrong stuff and not liking it. i remember him mentioning that. that was the reason why he formulated that kit for the tacoma; it works efficiently without hiccups. but guys like us, want to extract the most performance we can with what we can. if you get past that inital defense point, hes really a cool cat.

not sure I'd go that far. he cancelled my initial order because the extension i was planning to run didn't make sense to him. i explained it clearly and he didn't care to listen, but just kept pushing back on me. then he just cancelled without explanation and was straight up rude about it. but that's not an issue. the main thing is that I'm running my extension and it is so damn good, and he was completely wrong about that.

Hmmmm. Buy it, swap in a yardstick with a Baby Ruth squished on there and ask him why it shifts like shit?:rofl::rofl:

I get what your saying though. The problem is that we know what we're doing from the bracket on up. Under the lid, no real clue, esp on the materials, fit, and tolerance side, which is just fine.

dude. he gave you a hurst emblem?! mf playing favorites now! i want a hurst emblem too! lol i had to go online and buy me a sticker. and let me give you drum on this badboy. i dont even think it was authentic. taking the backing off, shit was flopping all over, just making it all around hard to lay down perfectly. looking at it up close and you knew that puppy was chintzy, like it was homebrew and said person was just tryna make a few skrillz based on nostalgia alone. anyhow, i love my hurst. i know beyond a shadow of a doubt you will too.

I purchased the emblem with the shifter. There's a note on the site to say that it wouldn't be the original pot metal, but just plastic.

I've got a different knob that's gonna be on it, but liked the Hurst knob too, so it'll be a backup.

Looking forward to the install, thanks for everybody's help & input.
