Reach is good, but Core-Shifters is going to make a new bracket to move the shift stick a little further back to the driver. This is the piece that will be modified:

Is the throw extremely short? My friend had an AKG shifter in his M3 that I found to be pretty awkward for daily driving.

Any chance you could post a video rowing through the gears?

Throw is not "extremely" short to the point that its awkward, but its a big change over stock and offers a really nice engagement.

Roughly, the throw from 1st to 2nd is 5 inches on the stock shifter. The throw is around 3.25 inches with the Core-Shifter when going from 1st to 2nd. I can take a video of it, but it won't be until this weekend.

    Well, snap.

Now that my accumulator is in the dumpster and I'm tuned, I may have to do this to round out the M/T experience!

Wait, there's always a URD clutch kit..

Put one in, I’m interested to see the results. You can get the stage 3 clutch and heavier flywheel both for less than $1000.

A couple members have done it, but not much in way of reviews and how it drives. One owner said it grabs hard, but that’s what you want.

Looks like URD is the only aftermarket for the 3rd Gens.

Any eta on the new bracket? I’m 6’0 with decently long arms and even I feel like the stock reach isn’t ideal. How much is the reach improved with the current shifter?

Well that's certainly close enough if the distance is the same. I got to drift/daily one of those for a while back in NC since my buddy bought it and couldn't drive stick haha.
That's a neat ride for the wife!

Couple months is what I was told. Reach is comparable to stock.
