Nice work! It’s not in the instructions but did you use some blue loctite on the two shaft bolts? If you torqued them down enough, you’re probably ok but one person mentioned they came loose on him after a while.

I used @bbrown ’s supplemental instructions and read the thread thankfully. Small dab of blue loctite on the 4 12mm bolts mounting to the trans housing and small dab of red loctite to the shaft bolts tq’d to 35 ft/lbs. Probably should have went to 40 ft/lbs. I’ll keep an eye on any back and forth play just in case.

Perfect. The Blue stuff has been holding strong on the shaft for me (this sounded weirder than it should… lol)

Nah, not weird. I too like "stealth" mods. I went with FX PRO Rims on my 4Runner so they'll look stock to regular people, stump bumpers instead of full bumpers for the same reason.
And, I HATE it, I absolutely hate seeing people drilling holes on their dashboard to install aftermarket crap, or mounting their auxiliary power boxes on top of their fuse box.
It's going back to my days buying cars from Germany where any permanent modifications hurt the resale value and it usually meant that the vehicle was previously owned by either a dumb teenager or a Gipsy cab driver, and neither of them did anything to their rides but play loud music and put fuel in the tank..
However, I got my CORE Short Throw Shifter on order, hopefully I'll have it in in a few weeks.

Thank you kindly for taking the time to help our community.
Thanks to your post, installation went well, well, other than spending 90 minutes trying to break the 2 bolts lose, but I got her done without any cutting.

Not sure how other vehicles are but, on my 2023 Tacoma, the OEM Shifter had a metallic gasket, which I assume it's reusable as it wasn't at all pressed or deformed.
The Shifter is stiff, at first I was worried tgat 5th gear would be hard(er) to get into, however while driving, it goes easily into the groove, without any extra effort to push the Shifter to the right.
I ordered the GT6 Custom shift knob from www.sportshifters.com , and Roy, the guy I've chatted at length has been very accommodating on making a few small changes for me.
It's now in production, and, after driving with the TRD knob, I decided to ask for the weight to be at around 325 grams instead of 400 as I initially asked.
He also changed the thread pitch fir me to accommodate the Hurst 3/8×16 thread.
In all honesty, I actually enjoy the CORE/TRD knob combo, but I was a little w9rried that I might need more weight and ordered the new knob before installing the CORE so that's that

    To recap.
Love the mod, the shifts are crisp, Reverse is a tad harder to get into but also hard to go into unintentionally, transmission is louder but is a nice sound, I now drive with my radio off just so I can hear it.
If you're on the fence about it, go for it it's money well wasted, as I'm sure many of us spent a lot more on less useful mods.
