Just ordered one of these bad boys for my 2.7 R156F. Curious if anyone else with a 3rd gen also has one and what your experience has been after a month, few months, year, etc.

I know there’s a few threads on core-shifter, but most were 2nd gen Tacos from years who.

This is mostly V6, but there are a few 2.7l posts mixed in:

Sorry about that! I didn't look to see that it was you.

It is damn hard to tell anything about these. Like you saw early on, we were curious about just getting the Core base to use with a custom lever and stock knob threads. So far, it is a no go. I'm not a fan of the chrome shaft or the Hurst knobs. I do like the slight offset to left though.

that isn’t my issue, I just want to make sure it’s a quality product and people aren’t having issues down the road. I’m not unhappy by any means with the stock shifter (its a truck after all)

Agreed. The stock shifter is not bad at all, but I am a fan of short shifters.

Coming from a sports car and always driving quick manuals - totally get it. This truck is one I’m attempting to take past 200k miles with little to no issues so while my list of mods is long, they need to be solid.

Rather take that $250 and put it toward a REM polished set of 4.88s lol

I hear you. I always like shifts in Miatas and even just regular car MTs. I also would get a kick out of driving old Chevys with yard sticks for shifters. Completely different but still fun.

I'm keeping mine until the wheels fall off also.

Sorry for the thread revival. OP, did you wind up running this shifter? I'm swapping an R156F into my 2nd gen and need to buy a shifter.
