    this and that...
its a lot more expensive cause you get a lot more product. i dont want to say urd is not quality cause they are, but the urd short shifter is basically a spacer that modifies the shift point so it seems shorter. the core is the whole shifter assembly that get switched out. plus you get that billet shifter and the matching shift knob. its worth every penny.

if you like a tight mechanical shift with no slop at all this is your option. pay to play, there is no real comparison to the others, stock URD or TRD on the previous gens.

Reading through this thread makes me want to get one so I can hear the transmission whine. A friend bought a retired plow truck years ago, and I kinda liked the 1st gear whine it had.

How did you end up with such short stick? Core shifter combined with a different hurst stick?

It was the stick that came with the kit …. Wasn’t much shorter …. Might be just the angle of my picture

Oh, ok. Yes, it does look much shorter than my factory shifter, but you are right, is probably just the angle.

The shift pattern is shorter, with actual gates, reverse requires an intentional action, and mine only makes a little noise in 5th & 6th (I filled the shift ball with lead shot and glue, and ran a greased up bolt in to keep clearance for the shifter). I think the noise is getting quieter with a little wear on the tranny gears, but I could just be used to it, and it is just part of the engine and exhaust sounds.

You could add some sound deadener to the stick and to the boot itself
