I have a rim that is corroding on 09 so I have to add air every couple days here in the cold midwest. Last year when I took to Discount Tire they were nice enough to clean the rim and that lasted about 6-7 weeks until the issue came back.

    Anyone fix this yourself?

I'm thinking about taking the wheel off, deflating completely to see if I can break the seal enough to clean the rim edge.

I had that problem with another set of alloy wheels. Salt will corrode anything & these wheels were pretty far gone. I ended up getting a deal on refinishing (powder coated). My tire guy uses just the bare minimum of bead sealer when installing the tires. He said it holds salt & moisture that causes the corrosion. He also said to stay away from caustic based car wash soaps. Real PITA when it gets real cold.

Buy new wheels. Boom problem solved. Plus with how many people get aftermarket wheels now stock wheels are EVERYWHERE for like 200$ per set of 4. Just look around online
