All 4 of my wheels are blistering and corroding. I asked the dealership to help with the issue. I was told road salt or cleaning products caused the issue and I don't have any coverage because the mileage is to high. We don't use any harsh cleaners so it must be the wheels can't hold up to the salt on roads in the winter. I thought puchasing a 4 wheel drive truck would make my commute safer but the wheels are worrying me. What is recommended to repair this problem. I can't afford new wheels for the truck - I am still paying for it. Thanks

Sand all the finish and corrosion off, everywhere, every tiny nook. Wash them down with soap and water one by one. Wipe them down with laquer thinner or alcohol. Use a self etching primer. Use duplicolor wheel paint, color of your choice, to paint them using several light coats. Follow directions of cans.

Ta da! Or buy a used set of stock wheels.

It's very, very, very common on any alloy wheel. Very common. These type of wheels are also very prone to get corrission build-up on the inside lip of the rim causing air leaks.

All 4 of mine have blistered and corroded. Nothing too serious but noticeable. End up sanding rims down and painting IMG_1973.jpgwith bed liner
