I picked up a hitch mounted cargo carrier but I would like to modify it.

What I have (mine is beat up & abused tho):

    What I'm looking to accomplish:

Don't want to drop a bunch of money on this. Cheapest route possible.

Also: Doesn't have to be pretty. Just has to do the job.

So I was thinking of picking up a cheap collapsible dog kennel on CL or LetGo and using that as the sides of the cargo carrier.

    Problem is, I don't have a welder.

The thing doesn't have to haul anything heavy, just has to contain several loose items for transport (short distance).

Is there anybody in the Springs area that would be willing to tac weld (or whatever) the wire walls of a dog kennel to the sides of the cargo carrier I have?

Again. Doesn't have to be pretty. Even if you have a welder and you're in the learning phase... you can practice on this.

    Thoughts? Other Ideas?

Oh. If you have some cheap scrap metal that could do the trick, and you'd be willing to part with the metal... please let me know. Would save me some time.

Why not just post in the bs thread? No one really looks at these threads.

Better to ask what I have not done.
If you go to a ranch supply store you could get a fencing section for cheap and it would be stronger then a dog kennel. And if you want to drive up to see me ill help weld it up
