I have a 2012 double cab tacoma with a 6ft bed with a Leer shell on it. Any idea the cost to have racks put on the shell so I can put a Rooftop tent on it? Or any tips from anyone who has this done in the past?
    Thanks

Double check the weight rating of the shell.

Some fiberglass shells don’t have the strength to adequately support the weight of a RTT and will crack over time.

I was looking at getting a RTT a couple of years ago, but decided at 67, I was getting too old to climb up and into it. Especially after partaking in some Tennesse whiskey or having to get up in the middle of the night when nature called. Through my research I did add a set of bed stiffeners to help with the weight of my Leer cap and the composite beds our trucks have. I also saved a couple of links with Q&A's on the subject of RRT, caps, and racks. Hope they help with your question(s).

BTW instead of a RTT, I went with a more bare bones approach.

These tracks won't sit level on his curved cap which will cause any accessories to not sit properly on the track. Leer sells Yakima/Thule tracks that sit level so your accessories attach properly.
