Tacoma 2WD is even cheaper than these. I got mine from Wolverine as well.

Look at it this way, you are giving someone over $2K of your money, today, for something you can't even take advantage of for 3 years or 36K miles. You never know what might happen and you could sell or trade the truck before the warranty ever comes in force. Then you have to deal with the hassle of getting your money back and all you did was give someone and interest-free loan. I was one who always refused an EW but bought a F250 in '17 and the F&I guy made me a great offer on a 5/60 extension (+/- $600). At the time, I thought I would keep the truck for a long time and figured one major A/C repair would more than cover the cost (Ford is notorious for A/C issues), so I bit on it. I decide to trade the truck at 37K miles and the hoops I had to go through to get a refund from Ford reminded me why I should have stood my ground to begin with.

If you get an extended warranty keep up with the required maintenance in the warranty contract, Especially oil changes. Keep all documentation of work done on the vehicle.
I was an auto service advisor. I saw many times claims denied because the customer couldn’t provide maintenance docs for the vehicle as required by the extended warranty company.

Yeah nothing like charging an arm and leg for the warranty, just to have the dealer refuse too fix your truck because of some B.S reason,Typical Toyota.

Man, I paid 2 grand. Can I cancel mine and then rebuy it from one of these cheaper places? If I cancel it will it get deducted from the loan since I financed it?

I would only buy a extended warranty if it was the manufactures own warranty and not a third party, and even then, I wouldn't pay much for it. You'd probably be better off taking that money you're gonna throw at a extended warranty and start a "vehicle emergency fund". Add in a little every month or so for possible vehicle issues. Just my 2 cents.

I invested it instead. After a year with the market where it is now, its really paying off.

in 2016 I paid $1200.00 for Toyota 125,000 mile 8 year platinum warranty. Last year Toyota ate a $700 repair to replace my Gauge cluster for a constant error code, so I am half way there to getting my money back. Would I buy a warranty again hell yes. too much electrical crap to leave you stranded with high repair costs. The worse thing though is having the dealer service on everything to provide warranty protection. I have not been particularity happy with dealer service personnel though. I have been saddled with because of the warranty. I don't trust them and have to recheck everything they do.

Funny how folks who buy these extended warranties almost sound like they are hoping something is going to break?

    There's a few.
I rolled the dice and took no warranty on my 2020. Just the basic it comes with.

Research products to make wise purchases, and never buy extended coverage. I’m 64 now and this life long practice has saved us lots of cash. Sure, there have been a few oops, but overall the savings more than covered them.

Warranty and whether to purchase or not seems like more of a religion than a science..

I bought the 6yr/100k platinum for $850. That’s been a couple of years ago. It may have been mentioned already but you have until the factory warranty is about to expire before you have to purchase it. I used Wolverine Toyota. They had the best prices back then.
