Most insurance companies force aftermarket if it is in the policy, unless barred by the state DOI or you have an endorsement on your policy for all OEM.

Since you filed the claim I would still get them to pay anything above your deductible unless the cost was less. It was already reported. Get the cash

I just got my windshield replaced on my 2021 this morning. I replaced it with 2018 OEM glass so I could get the GoPro mount. 0 deductible and 0 cost to me. In Arizona full glass coverage is mandated by lenders and is very common in any event. I took delivery of my 2021 on 12/11/20 and picked up a rock Labor Day weekend. The crack spread and I had it replaced today. I expect to do it again in 2022. Windshields don’t last long in Arizona.

Went thru this same situation a few months back. Called USAA but they, like most insurers, kicked me over to Safelite. Had a really shitty conversation with Safelite girl, such that I called USAA and threatened to move all my business. Never spoke to Safelite again, got my dealership to install & calibrate OEM Toyota labeled glass. Paid my comp deductible and USAA handled the whole thing.
