Looking at figuring out my options on a front bumper. Thinking a hybrid, If people dont mind im curious what each person paid to powder coat there bumper let me know if its full steel plate or hybrid. Also if you did a rear bumper too. Im sure prices will vary, also if anyone rattle canned theirs and how it looks and is holding up. Pictures dont be shy

I'm sure if you have a bumper in mind, the company can quote you prices for unfinished vs. powder coated. Most people probably buy them finished in their preference vs. getting one and having to have it done separately. Just my .02

It's going to be tough to answer your question since every powder coat company will have a different rate. Since you're only bringing one part, and not a high volume it'll be a little more. If I had to guess, you're going to be in the $175-$250 range for powder coat. I am basing these figures off of all the places in MD I talk to to get rates to powder all our parts.

Make sure whoever does it preps the surface correctly. Powder coating without sandblasting is garbage.

Not about prices but still a powder costing question. Anyone have any feedback on how their powder coated bumpers have held up to heavy road salt? I want to buy a rear bumper and was just wondering what my options for finishing was seeing as I am in the rust belt. Do any manufacturers warranty their work against corrosion? I would hate to drop a G+ on a bumper just to have it look like crap after one or two winters.

If it isn't coated correctly it will look like crap quick.

Make sure they sandblast, and if at all possible they should hit it with a light coat of zinc primer before powder coating.

The zinc primer is the secret.

Some manufacturers warranty that stuff, some don't. I had good luck with All Pro when their powder coat went south on me.

If I was doing a DYI on armor I'd use Monstaliner, inside and out.

    www.monstaliner.com

Look at their customer build pages, the difference in the finish vs rubber chipped liner material and their color choices.

In fact, if I was going to armor as a functional item, I'd select this stuff over powder coat.

The powdercoat place I use does a lot of iron fences so when I stopped by they were like ya no problem lets toss it in now. I'd call a fence company that does a lot of iron fence work ask who there powdercoat guy is then give him a call.
