Well, if you do decide to part it out, I could use the engine compartment wire harness. Not the engine harness but the harness that runs from the passenger side fender to the drivers side fuze and relay box. Either way you go, good luck.

    Thanks

Any pics of these "trail rigs" you speak of?? I know it's been a while and I still haven't done anything with it.
Or maybe there are previous threads on these trail builds? Link anyone?
    Thx!

I would be all over this!!! It is not that hard to do....it's just work. A lot of it....but just work! The cab is done....goodbye but if you spend the time to find another and replace, you are more than halfway home. $8k and not only would it be fixed but I would have it pimped out! Find a flood truck if you have to and make one good truck out of them both but don't just part it out unless you are broke and need the money. Not a horrible idea to make a trail rig but it will just be a running and driving wreck. Cut the roof off at the base of the pillars....where the windshield meets the cowl and then cut right below the rear window. Remove the doors and remove the center (B) pillar and then build one hell of a roll cage!

If you can find a cab I'd say go for it if you have the tools and someone willing to help ya out.

Your best bet would to swap cabs and make a trail rig non DD. I don't think its worth investing to restore to stock. Just make it a capable rig with tubing and glass and make it slow project.

Make a sick trail rig or swap the engine (assuming it's still good) into another truck with a blown engine. Probably easier than a cab swap...

NICE KCBMX! How long did it take you to complete? How much did you spend to get it back to normal?

A free truck is a free truck.. If you can fix the body to what would be acceptable for you, and its cheap, go for it.

That's going to be a shit load of work tho.
