Well the deal I was working out through fell through. The $300 over invoice for a special order was legit, but dealer wouldn't eat TDA. I am not eating it either. The search continues.

    Taco Bella,

Did you get $500 over invoice plus

    TacoBella,

So you paid $500 over invoice plus the $299 closing cost? So basically $800 over invoice?

No I Paid $500 over invoice INCLUDING the Dealer's $299 Doc Fee, That was my deal to them $500 over Invoice including all fees, I had in my possession two written offers AT Invoice from a dealer 80 miles away. One was a Loaded Limited 4X4 for $36665 OTD. I offered my dealer $500 more as I wanted to keep my business local in case of an issue.(I did not want a 4x4 or a limited)

So far that has come in very handy with the howling noise we are very close to eliminating.

I heard someone tried to match your deal with Sparks and was unsuccessful. I'll just have to wait. Dealers playing games with TDA and doc fees right now.

YEah I told them I would not be sensing any more references. They want me to send them without knowing my deal...I see no gain in that at all.

Charles Maund Toyota in Austin, TX is a participating CostCo dealer, BUT they've opted to exclude all Tacomas from their Costco pricing.

I called their customer service line, and CostCo has put me in contact with Universal Toyota, in San Antonio, and tells me they are including Tacomas in their CostCo pricing. They should call me on Monday.

I currently have two local dealers competing for my business with $200 below invoice pricing on a 4x4 OffRoad, as well as on a 4x4 Limited.
They've also promised me their 7yr/100K mile platinum extended warranty for $1400, which retails for $2800.
Plus, they've both agreed to match my bank's financing, which I'll happily take in order to use the $750 rebate, on top of the $500 cash back rebate.
So, $1250 in additional rebates; but they don't know I have those up my sleeves!

Let's see if Universal Toyota in San Antonio can beat that...

So, has anyone else had success with Costco, especially in SoCal? It looks like Escondido is the place to buy? If anyone has a specific dealer/salesman that they want to recommend, please post/message me. I want a TRD 4x4 off road short cab with tow package, tech package, and exterior package. Costco website quoted me $36,967 with destination. Anyone think this is feasible? Btw, does Toyota have a truck month like Dodge, where discounts/incentives are best? Thanks.

If Costco quoted you that price then it is feasible. They are very reputable.

That's about 1500 off... Toyota doesn't give discounts on trucks. Like some bitch at Pasadena Toyota told us, "this isn't the 90s.."

Thanks everyone...great forum! It looks like Manhattan Beach is the SoCal Costco dealer. I am surprised a dealer in this area is giving Costco discounts, which is pretty significant, because everyone that lives there is at least upper middle class. Taco here I come!

Costco was crap in SoCal. Utter crap. I could get the same prices without them. True car was also crap. Actually all the buying services were. They all wanted near sticker.

I ended up going to Autonation in Tempe, AZ. I just sent out e-mails to everybody in neighboring states and no one came close as far as price.. The salesladys name was Kim Franklin. She had someone pick me up from the airport, took 2-3 hours to sign paperwork and I drove my baby 6 hours back.

So far so good. I have about 1k miles on her. Most of of it was from the Az trip back to SoCal. So far, it looks like I am getting 21-22mpg going 70-75mph.

I am gonna put her info here cause she helped me a lot. I ain't getting a kickback or nutin for doing this. This was just the easiest buying experience I've ever had and I bought many new cars for family. The SoCal helpful Honda Dealers can kiss my a55

@moonfresh Thanks to @Johnlovesbikes I also ordered from Manhattan Beach on Monday. Invoice + $150. Gonzalo is the Sales Manager but when I spoke to him he said anybody in internet/fleet will do the same, it's their standard pricing policy for Costco Members.

What fees are on top of that? TDA? I paid a little more than that, but close but it was after all the fees.

$622 TDA, $8 FUEL. I tried to get the TDA taken off / receive additional accessories but they know you won't get a better deal and were up front about it being a 'fair' price for the market.

As far as I'm concerned in the SoCal market, it is. Also fortunate enough to factor in the cost of my time: 10 emails + a phone call to place the deposit makes it a good deal to me.

I factor the total deal when I figure out costs. A high TDA or BS charge could totally kill the deal. I think I got a bargain. They even honored the price when I got there. AZ wasn't even hat far. I had a nice lunch and said so long and made my way back to Cali.
