Costco Auto Buying Service on a 3rd Gen?

Maybe if I get time I will do that to the local dealers here. Most of them tried to say there was no TrueCar price, and then when I produced the print out they told me they were not honoring it. So I made a habit of calling every single one listed. Downside is I get a ton of calls now from the idiots that think I am going to pay MSRP or over for the truck, but I finally found one willing to honor the deal. Money talks, nobody around here offers free oil changes or anything crazy so it really just comes down to bottom line price for me. I can deal with a sleezy dealer as long as there is nothing shady hidden and the numbers work out. At least its not a used car so most of the stuff is not dealer specific anyhow.

It works better if you are in an area with multiple dealerships. I am in L.A. and have 5 dealers within 20 minutes of me. might be time for a roadtrip

I got mine from Pasadena Toyota for $500 over invoice. You should go there. Ask for Anjelica and tell her Joe sent you

Getting married in a week and plan on selling my current truck private party before I buy. so hopefully in a month or so. I am also waiting for market saturation since the model I want is a bit of a unicorn at this point, DCSB OR manual with HH and tow package.

No, I emailed them asking for an offer, i put the invoice price in the email, and they came back with $500 over invoice. Best deal i found around LA. Either nobody wanted to deal, or they wanted msrp or over. Pasadena straight up offered $500 over so i took it. truck is on custom order, should be here next month

 

That's pretty great. so far the dealers I have talked to won't quote or state that the model I want is unavailable. Even when prodded there is no talk of ordering or modifying allocations. I guess they don't want my money.

 

They told me that the HH package was not getting allocated to the LA region, but the FP (jbl) was. I only wanted HH so they had to order it for me

 

Yeah they all told me they dont have the model i wanted too (DC OR 4x4, Black, Graphite Interior, HH package, tow), and NOBODY even offered to try to order me one. Pasadena gave a great price AND offered to order the truck for me. I am very happy with them

 

I'm ok with a roadtrip to get one. Prefer sold in California due to the emissions requirements. Pasadena isn't far, once I sell I will grab Metro and head up there

 

Its 50 state now, so it doesn't matter.

 

that's good, I tried to register an older out of state car that had the proper emissions sticker and it turned almost futile. Traded it in for my Tacoma with expired out of state tags

 

The truck I want is on order, scheduled to build on October 12th I believe, should be here by the end of the month. They did the cost sheet write up but nothing set in stone yet. They seem very willing to make the deal
