Costway 54qt Fridge? Cheaper Alternative and Just as Good?

    I've had mine for a year now and couldn't be happier...2 other guys in my group have the same one as well....heavy use...lots of camping...and we even did the Red Clay Rally and kicks butt! I love this thing. How do we know the compressors in the Dometics and ARBs aren't Chinese?? I'm asking...because I don't know.

    Does it matter? Chinese was used as a synonym for cheaply made. But not all things made in China are garbage. There are different levels of quality.

    Example: Ryobi and Milwaukee power tools are both made in China (likely some tools in the same factory since they are owned by the same company). But the Milwaukee tools are much better with better components and more care in making it. They are just as Chinese as the Ryobi tools but you won’t hear many people complain that they are crappy.
