so I'm looking to switch my subwoofer out for something that hits harder. And I know its hard to get a pull size speaker back behind the rear seats. But I found that the new alpine type s thr 12 inch has a mounting depth of 5 1/16inch and the 10 inch has a 4.5 inch mounting depth. Does anyone think I could fit the 12 inch if I have a custom built box. Any input would be appreciated thank you.

U will probably have to pull the plastic piece out and a custom box . More than likely you will need to run a shallow mount subwoofer to fit. Look into a jl audio micro sub in a 10” they sound fantastic and they don’t take a lot of space up . The type S subs are ok . If u want deep bass go to a type r .

I had planned on pulling out the plastic storage container and the plastic backing off the seat. As of right now I have a pioneer 10 inch shallow mount. It sounds good for mids and highs but no lows at all. Amd yhe type is a full sized sub so it would give deeper bass than the shallow mount

4-1/2” is about the limit with a custom box. I would go with a pair of shallow mounts if you are after more output. Here is what 2 shallow 12’s look like and the box to give you an idea what it takes to fit.

No is that after removing all the plastic storage bins behind the seat?? And did you build your own box or did you have someone do it.

So by there measurements I could fit that 12 inch sub it said there doubke 12 box has a mounting depth of 5 5/16 inches. The alpime 12 is only 5 1/16 inches. So I could fit the 12. Thats hood to here.
