    The blue wire is the one you tapped for your truck is this the correct wire for my 13?

    Should be. I tapped in the a pillar. More room to work in there.

    I did this the other day and it took me a full day to just figure out the wiring. Toyota wiring seems to be off a little from what I have done with other trucks in the past. Theres a blue and yellow wire in the pillar I used. One has constant power and the other gets power when the doors are open or something like that. It was the biggest pain in the ass to figure out because it didn't make any sense. I might have a picture on my phone if you need one still.

    Thats the one in the pillar on my 17. I'm pretty sure the black goes into the always positive and the red goes into the "negative" or whatever you want to call it. To me its half backwards but I'm not an expert or know their reasoning to having it this way. I just used two quick splices and ran the wires down to a little 6 way switch made for leds. have the front and rear ran on it now, and tomorrow I'm going to hook up some puddle lights with it if i can figure out a way to get the wires inside nicely.

    Still sounds like you tapping the incorrect wire. Take a pic and post it.

    I used the door pin switch wire on each side to tap into for ground and the a pillar wire for power. This makes each door have their own light.

    I have a base so i dont have a key fob. But no, only when the door opens. driver door gets driver light pass door get pass light
