I believe this can help every single member immediately.

If you disagree, DO NOT POST IN THIS THREAD

This is not debate. This is awareness.

TL/DR: everyone has to help "flatten the curve" to stop it from spreading and overwhelming the capacity of health workers and facilities.

If you don't help, you will contribute to it spiraling out of control in the US, too.

Your short-term life will be affected without a doubt. But not necessarily by getting sick. Many of you are waking up and realizing that now in many parts of the country.

I received these helpful stories from a family member who is a veteran ER pediatrician at John's Hopkins. It opened my eyes wide about what needs to be done.

Flatten the curve. It is the only way.

NBA cancels season. If that pisses anyone off, you don't get it. Yet.

    The Future To Come.
I am astonished at the shear stupidity of people and their actions those days…Toilet paper shortage? Why? Is the Wuhan virus (Corona virus) going to give you dissenteria?
If you really want to be prepared for what is shortly coming, then you SHOULD make a run for and stock up on really necessary lifesaving items such as:
    - Soap (you know, to wash your hands).
    - Detergent to clean contaminated cloths.
    - Chlorine to disinfect pretty much everything
    - Chlorine pills to disinfect the water (when the water shortage will happen).
    - Iodine to disinfect water, wounds.
    - Salt to preserve food and for food preparations.
    - Canned soup or any canned food that has liquid inside.
    - Powder milk (if you have young kids at home).
    - Over the counter pain pills, nausea pills, headache pills.
    - Batteries for any/all portable electronics.
Also, how many of you have a tub home and almost never use it for bath? Clean it up really good (here comes the chlorine), fill it up with water for drinking (iodine pills come in handy now) and cover it up with a plastic sheet. Bet you never considered this.
Soon there will be interruptions in electricity, water, gas, food. Irrational panicked people will stop going to work, transportation will dwindle, supply will stop, daily services will end. Your neighbor, the maintenance technician for the local water pump, the electrician in the power plant, the truck driver, the supermarket cashier and shelf stocker, all will hide inside their homes leaving you to fend by yourself. Are you ready? If you stock on toilet paper, why not on the above mentioned items? Just think about it.

The point here is to allay mass hysteria and as citizens focus on doing the right thing.

With facts, we avoid hysteria and can focus on a practical solutions together. The sooner, the better.
